While Bella was transforming into a vampire, was she in a coma?

No she was not in a coma.She was induced with morphine.It was mentioned in book 3 of BD that it wouldn't do any good to scream and that screaming would just make Edward feel even plus guilty for turning her into a vampire,so she kept still and kept her eyes closed the entire time she was going through the transformation.Hope that réponses your question.

Bella wasn't in a coma. She just manages to keep her eyes closed and her body still so Edward wouldn't see how much pain she was in. This was mentioned in the book, but if it was mentioned in the movie, I wouldn't know. If I have the chance, I'll give toi the page number(s) but that's pretty much it.

They'd injected her with morphine, hoping that would numb the pain of the venom. It didn't work, and she still felt the pain, but the morphine also paralysed her at first and made it impossible for her to scream. When it wore off, she forced herself not to scream because she wanted to hide the pain from Edward, and she could sense that it'd soon be over.
