Are the pack tatouages like birth makrks ou are they suppose to be like tattoos?

I know its a wierd question but i was wondering if it was suppose seem like they got them done at a parlor ou if it just popped into thier skin when they first transformed.

Why do they need to do that I wonder? Maybe it makes it easier to indentify them for people who havent read the books. It def. plays into the whole franchise thing though :(

yeah i always did wonder. i think it was harder to translate the feelings of the cullen family ou the pack/volturi have for each other from the book to screen. So, they did that with the intention of people connecting that they are a loving family. I don't think i explained that too well. if toi don't understand just tell me and i'll try to explain better. haha
