She's coming. That's all my mind could process. I was scared but I don't know why I was scared. I shouldn't be. I mean, I have been told that newborn vampires are super strong and fast, but I have also been told that I am not like any other newborn that the Cullen's have seen before. What am I to expect with her coming here? Is she still going to want to kill me?

"I think everything is going to be okay," I a dit to them.

Everyone turned to look at me. Some had a surprised look on their face and some were just shocked par my saying that.

"Well, I was just thinking... I am a new vampire so I am stronger than her and faster than her, right? And toi guys are older and plus experienced than she is so she is going to have to realize that she is at a disadvantage, right? I mean, she isn't going to try anything now. Maybe if I were still human things would be different but I'm not. I'm one of toi now."

Emmett smiled at me. "Bella that is some kick cul, ass reasoning and I can't fault toi for thinking that way. toi remind me of me when I was a newborn. I wasn't afraid of anyone. I was invincible." And he laughed. It made me smile.

"Yeah Emmett.... toi were completely invincible. But I remember Jasper kicking your butt a time ou two," Rosalie a dit with a twinkle in her eye. She looked at me and winked.

Carlisle was suivant to speak. "Yes I agree with Bella. I don't think that houx is going to be starting anything. Not today anyway but there is always a chance that she will in the future. And if we can somehow put her at ease and figure out why she feels the need to start a fight, then maybe she won't want to come back. Only my son would have someone like this come around and trying to fight for him.," he a dit with a small smile on his face.

"That's right. We have a great son and a beautiful new daughter. That goes for all of you," Esme said. "What woman would be able to resist any of toi guys? They don't have a chance."

"Chance ou not, she can still hurt one of us if she wants to. I am sorry to be the realist here but even if we all fight her together, if it comes to that, she could hurt ou kill one of us. I still think we need to come up with a plan of attack if it comes to that. Not to mention if she is going to come with newborns. Alice, have toi seen any newborns with her?"

"No Rosalie I haven't. But that doesn't mean that she doesn't have any around. I mean, the guys in La Push wouldn't have turned for just one plus vampire in the area. That has to mean something," replied Alice. Then she froze. I hate it when she does that. I knew that she was seeing something that none of the rest of us did. Edward didn't react yet either, which is not like him since he can read her mind and see what she is seeing, in a way.

"She's gone. I can't see her! Why can't I see her? She wouldn't just leave like that! Something's wrong!" Alice exclaimed.

"Calm down Alice," a dit Jasper. He was over par her with his arms wrapped around her shoulders.

And at that moment there was a knock at the door. I felt Edward tense as Carlisle walked to the door.

When the door opened Jacob and the other loups from La Push came in. Jacob, Sam, Embry, and Quill entered the Cullen's house and were at least a foot taller than Carlisle. I was amazed at how much bigger they were. I couldn't believe that my best friend had gotten so big.

"Well that explains it! It's because of toi I can't see her anymore. What do toi guys want here anyway?" Alice yelled. I hadn't really ever seen her yell like that.

"Calm down Alice," a dit Esme. "What is going on with toi boys?"

Jacob puffed out his chest a bit and looked like he smelled something foul. Then he looked over at me. His face went blank.

"Bella? Is that you? What is going on? What happened to you? Don't tell me that toi are..."

"Jake. Chill out!" I laughed. "I'm fine. I am still me, just an upgraded version of myself."

He was shaking his head and he did not look happy. Jacob looked at Edward then to Carlisle. "You know what this means, don't you?"

"What what means? What are toi talking about Jake?" I asked.

"The pact that these vampires made with my elders. They were not to harm a human. They were not to kill a human..."

Before he could finish I interrupted him, "I was not killed. I am still here, living and breathing. Not that I need to breathe though."

"They are also not to bite another human ou the pact that was made making them sûr, sans danger from us would be broken. toi are no longer human Bella, anyone can see that. I can even smell that on you. toi are one of them, my enemy now. Why would toi let this happen?" He seemed so hurt that it made me sad for him.

"Jake, I had to do this. Surely toi can tell that there is another vampire here. toi can smell her too, right? She has come looking for a fight, she wants to kill me. If she got her way I would be gone too. Just like my parents. This way I have a better chance of surviving and helping the Cullen's defeat her if she is wanting to have this fight. Please understand. And please do not take this out on them, they only did as I asked. I had nothing else here anyway. I was alone and now..." I looked around at the room. My family. These were my family members now. My brothers. My sisters. My parents. My replacement parents. "And now I have a family again. Don't be mad at them. If toi want to be mad at anyone, be mad at me."


Jake lowered his head as if he were looking at his shoes. I could tell that he was trying to get his thoughts together and not say the wrong thing. "Bella. I understand you're reasoning. But there were other options for toi other than toi condemning yourself like this."

"I am not condemning myself! How can toi say that? Are they condemned?" I motioned to my family. "Are they damned for all eternity for what was out of their control?"

"Ugh... Bella..." Jacob started. But then we heard movement outside the house. It sounded like it was footsteps in the driveway. I am still not used to being able to hear everything like this. It was amazing and eerie at the same time.

"Jake shh... someone's coming. Is it her Alice?" I asked.

"I don't know. I can't see past the chiens here. toi should not have come," she a dit scornfully.

Sam answered her. The first time he a dit anything. "We came to help you. We just want to make sure that everyone stays safe. We meant no disrespect. Right Jake?"

He mumbled a soft "yeah" under his breath. With that we could hear footsteps coming up the steps to the front door. This time it was Edward who went to open the door. Jasper and Emmett came to stand suivant to me. Maybe for support, maybe for protection, ou both. Alice and Rosalie were close to us too. Edward glanced at Esme and Carlisle before opening the door. I took a deep breath and held it.....
