When I think of the word "soulmates", the only couple I can think of is Dawson and Joey. But believe me, it's not for a good reason. Maybe if I had never watched Dawson's Creek, I would have a happier definition of the word "soulmates". But I did watch Dawson's Creek, so I don't. Soulmates to me are people who claim to be some epic romance but then bail at the first sign of a crisis. They can't stand to watch the other try to be move on with someone else. And soulmates do not end up together. For six seasons, it was pounded in my head that Dawson and Joey were soulmates. They only way for there to be a good definition of soulmates is for the two people to have a completely platonic relationship, like Jack and Jen's. When soulmates have a romantic relationship, however, they become "hellmates". They do things like blame the other for their cheating, fall in love with their best friend, lie about losing virginity to said best friend, and then have sex only one time, ever (Because one of them already a girlfriend). And then they didn't speak until Christmas.

Well, it's like a best friend, but more. It's the one person in the world that knows you better than anyone else. It's someone who makes you a better person, well, actually they don't make you a better person - you do that yourself because they inspire you. A soulmate is someone who you carry with you forever. It's the one person who knew you, and accepted you, and believed in you before anyone else did or when no one else would. And no matter what happens... you will always love them.

Peyton & Lucas inspired eachother. He knew her from the start and Peyton understands him more than anyone else [except Haley maybe]. She believed in him, in his dreams and his books. Obviously they will always love eachother <3
