Book Four- Zoe
LOGIC DEFINES REALITY ANYDAY. THAT IS HOW I LIVED MY LIFE. -Emma
This is it. I thought to myself as I sat in my room with Shane. This was really happening. I faced him with a sadden look on my face. He returned the expression. I knew what I had to do but I really didn't want to put my life ou his on the line. I especially didn't want to go back to The Grey Realm. It was so depressing over there and everyone was a ghost which makes me think of death. Apparently, it had that effect on everyone that has ever been to The Grey Realm. "Are toi sure this is the only way to save Sophie? What if she actually is here with Madison ou something?" I was scared and making up excuses not to go.
He held my hand and stared into my eyes intensely. "I promise toi that I wouldn't let anything happen to toi . . . ou Sophie. toi have got ou trust me on this. toi was born to save them. toi was born to rule them."
"You make it sound so simple. I go in, stop the bad guy, and rule The Grey Realm." I looked away. Hs gaze was too much. It made me even plus confuse. How could he be this friendly when e have only known each other for about a week? He had to be working some kind of angle. Everyone always has an ulterior motive, what was his? "I know toi think I can do this but get real. I am useless when it comes to these things. I would rather stay in the background and let someone like toi fight the battles."
A bit of a smile danced on his lips. "Trust me," he whispered. He was much closer to me now, closer then I realized. The intoxicating scent of him overwhelmed me. I abruptly stood up just to get away from it, from it all. I didn't need him hitting on me when I was suppose to be concentrating on me sister.
"I trust you, let's just of okay," I a dit dismissively. His facial expression was confused but it suddenly became hard unreadable.
"Fine," he said. He held up both his arms and made a flicker motion with his fingers. A spark that suddenly grew into large flames was on my wall. Instead of being in awe, I was simply a bit alarmed. Those flames could get out of hand and possibly burn my house down. I think he wasn't expecting flames either. "What? I didn't do that. Run. I know who did we gotta run now!" I wasn't the most athletic person in the room and I was still alarmed par the flames that we're growing increasingly. Noticing my pause, he grabbed me par the wrist and we ran it the door, down the stairs and into the library.
"What was that?" I asked.
"The One," he said. "I believe he is after you. Remember how I broke toi out of jail well he probably found out. This house is the first place he would come looking for toi at." It was early daytime about two days after we made the escape. I knew The Ghost Realm lived at different times then us.
"How do toi know so much about this?" I questioned. It probably wasn't the best idea to interrogate the person who was saving toi but for some reason, I had to know. I needed to know.
He stared at me incredulously and for a moment I was afraid he wasn't going to answer. "Let's just say, when toi play with fire, toi get burnt."
That could mean a lot of things and honestly, he didn't answer my question. He was hiding something. He had to be. I realized that now wasn't the time to start questioning. I saved that for a moment when we aren't in peril danger. "What are we going to do now?"
"You need a sûr, sans danger haven. I know the place to go but it will take up all of my energy and I will most likely not be able to help toi do get harmed.
That was a chance I was willing to take. "Go ahead." He again held up his arms, made a flickering motion with is fingers, and hummed someone words that almost sounded like French. A purple mur formed on the library's wall. It was beautiful and a bit elegant. A loud bang came from the bibliothèque door. I was shoved in the mur with Shane close behind. I caught a glimpse at the thing banging out the door. Sophie.
I tumbled inside a thick forest that was much similar to mine at the house. Actually it was my forest. "You just transported us into my forest."
"Actually beyond these trees are another realm. Welcome to The Royal Court."

It's sad
It's the truth
Fighting through what it is
But I'll be stronger
I've gone through
Mounds of pain
I've been through
The deepest waters
Nobody can change my past
It's the truth, and it changed me
Sad to even hear the truth
Sad to...say the truth
Reality's always sad
And no one's gonna escape it.
It's how I became who I am today
It's how I didn't brag.
Why does this have to happen?
Why did it have to end?
Why does the world have to be so confusing?
Why did the fun have to end?
The world's just a crazy place
And no one's gonna stop that thought
Cause I'm broken for good...
Because of...the truth.
It's the truth

Tell me darling why toi cry,
Your tears stain the lit toi lay upon
Could it be toi miss the ones toi clung to so tight,
Nothing but a scared little fawn
The flames burnt away your past and future,
The hate did nothing but balance your grief
What now? That’s presents question,
Something so fragile like a branch being clung to par a leaf
Where is your mother little dove?
What happened to those loving others who filled your empty nest?
How many word of the world can toi rhyme with love?
Perhaps someday we will know with, proper care and rest
When pursuing dreams take chances and strive for nothing less than best
Then only then can toi be sure you’ve completed life’s most demanding quest
Your tears stain the lit toi lay upon
Could it be toi miss the ones toi clung to so tight,
Nothing but a scared little fawn
The flames burnt away your past and future,
The hate did nothing but balance your grief

Then only then can toi be sure you’ve completed life’s most demanding quest
Soar, soar
Soar beyond your wildest dreams.....
There's no limit
On how much toi can soar
No one can
Break your wings and kill you
Soar for the skies,
Don't let the feelin go
Just soar, soar like never before
No one's gonna stop you
From believin
There wasn't a time
When nobody could never soar
But there was a time
When people never believed
And tomorrow
Isn't the jour to fall
And nobody's gonna push toi down
Oh almighty eagle
We're gonna be the powerful eagles
We're not gonna let anyone
Be our ruler,
We're not anyone's slave
Almighty eagle
Oh soar, soar towards the sky's height
And soar toward your dream
Let nothing keep toi away
Almighty eagle
Soar beyond your wildest dreams
And we're gonna fly tonight
Let nobody keep us down.
Life can be hard. Especially for me, Lily West, your almost-average 16-year-old girl. Most people think it's weird I'm bald. Others think I'm going to die. Then there's the occasional person who tries to take pity upon me. I'd rather they not, because some say it like I'm a helpless little tortue on its back. Sometimes I wish I die already, and sometimes I wish that I was a completely different person. Yes, it's tough having cancer. I just wish that they would respect me for a person instead of a helpless little bug.
