As me and Gwen walked to Duncan's house, I noticed something. I looked around and nothing was there. No trees, cars, houses, flowers...no nothing. The only thing that was there was Gwen, me, and the sidewalk of which we walked on.
"Gwen...where'd everything go?" I asked her shivering in the cold, damp night.
"What are toi talking about, Onyx?" She gave me a confused look. I blinked and as I did, I saw threw someone elses eyes. The sun was shining so bright, as if it were getting closer and closer to me. i heard birds chirping and there was a plage in front of me. The waves crashed slowly and calmly onto the sandy shore. Children played, building sand castles and splashing one another, teenaged girls about my age got tanned ou walked on the plage holding hands with their boyfriends. I immedietly felt jealous because I didn't have a boyfriend.
"Onyx, come on. Why'd toi stop?" Her vioce knocked me out of my unusual sight. My eyes widened with fright. I didn't know what was happening and why it was. I blinked and everything was back to normal. The rain was pelting down on us and cars headlights shone threw the misty air. It took time for me to notice that I had stopped. Stopped dead in my tracks. I was looking down at my neon rose converse. I lifed my head and when I saw Gwen's terrified reaction, I knew something happened. Gwen walked up to me and studied my face. she told me to look in a puddle, so I did. My eyes had turned black. Not just the color. My entire eyeball was jet-black. I gasped and rubbed my eyes. I looked back in the puddle and they were blue again. Whats happening to me? I thought. Gwen grabbed my arm and we walked down the road. We got to Duncan's house and Gwen twisted the doorknob. Everyone was there. Bridgette and Geoff were talking, Courtney was yelling at Duncan, and Trent was sitting on the couch, as if waiting for someone. Gwen closed the door and I collapsed. I didn't know what was happening. I felt my eyes turn black again. Duncan rushed over to me. He picked up my head and rested it on his knee. Bridgette and Geoff ran over and I could hear my cœur, coeur beat. I heard Duncan's cœur, coeur beat, then Courtney's.
"Call 911!" I heard Bridgette's voice yell out. Courtney ran to the phone and dialed the number.
Duncan picked me up like a fireman's carry and brought me upstairs. He laid me down on a lit in a room that looked like his room.
"Gwen, you're her cousin, go comfort her!" He yelled. Gwen opened the bedroom door and sat on the bed.
"Onyx, what's going on?" She spit out. I could scence the fear in her voice. I stayed were I was and didn't déplacer at all. I lay on the lit staring at the white ceiling with my black eyes. I didn't blink...I didn't have to. Gwen got up and left. I heard her talking to Duncan quietly ouside the room and moments later, Duncan walked in the room and sat where Gwen had. He reached out and held my hand lightly. I didn't know what was happening and I didn't know why. All I knew is that I wanted it to stop.
