Not Meredith because she doesn't even seem bothered with Damon in the books. It would be a completely unexpected twist though.
Not Caroline because she goes all freaky and Damon doesn't seem to care about her in the books either, not really.
Didn't Vickie die in the 4th one? Well, that may put a strain on the relationship. But Damon didn't even care about Vickie, he never knew her before the 3rd one and in the 4th book he goes, "HER? I can do better than her."
So, Bonnie and plus, they have LOADS of <3 moments.
