I luv Damon with all my heart but of course Stefan is nicer but that's OK because Damon is hotter and evil and darkly charming what more could you want i rather the bad boy, killer vamp than the nice, overprotective, slightly annoying one. Plus Damon wouldn't be the same if he wasn't evil, the darkness, and pure evil of him contributes to his unwavering charm.

Damon is kind of sweet... sometimes! But he's more of a 'badass' , hehe.

stefan is nice all the time but when damon does something nice it's usually nicer than stefan's...he keeps saving elena...in the show when there wasn't stefan on that ball or something damon stood in his place, when she found about katherine he took her to another town to get over it....in the books for example he saved her from the balcony, he saved her diary and he didn't took advantage of her when she became a vampire and was obsessed with him...
