The vampire crazed theme has hit the media hard this past century and caused an increasing popularity amoungst people. It was definitely not the horror, and tragedy that lured these people in, it was the l’amour and protection these vampires gave when falling in l’amour with a mere human. Now people think that twilight started this vampire and human girl relationship but in all reality The Vampire Diaries did.
This story is about a teenage girl who struggles with her feeling for two vampire brothers while dealing with the dangers that come with the Supernatural world, affecting all of those around her and revealing a lot of dark secrets.
While this story has potential and is all is own, which it has defintley separated itself from the twilight saga and Tru blood. This story is far off from a A+ quality series. It's perhaps one of the best on CW, it still lacks a lot of qualities that are needed. The écriture lacks (and I seen the scripts) in a way where the actors and actrices really have nothing to work with, where sometimes I'm completely shocked at how Michael Trevino, Joeseph Morgan,and Paul Wesley are able to pull off their roles so well. While the others have their moments but I wouldn't call them great actors(still blaming the writing) I think it's self explanatory that most of these actors where hired upon their looks.
For ex: Laruen Cohan who played rose in the seconde season was doing an ok job with jouer la comédie but it was not great. But she was recently hired in the hit tv series The Walking Dead as a girl named Maggie, where Lauren does an amazing job jouer la comédie unlike The vampire diaries. This gives insight that the écriture and direction was not all there.
Another good thing I kinda like about this series is the well put together pieces of the plot and story. I can definitely argue that this series is well entertaining, which is what keeps me watching. But how they put everything together like the hybrids, the originals and how Stefan knew klaus before he was even introduced in the story is just amazing on haut, retour au début of other things.
Another thing in this series is the stupidity of its surroundings. I think again the writers are getting a little lazy. The characters just seem to think it's il y a to talk aloud about vampires, spells, and people dieing out loud in school and all around in public. And not too mention some of the actions these characters make are pointless like dating each other is just ugh. Sometimes a feel like I'm watching gossip girl.
The directing and scene editing is also a little off. Sometimes The scenes seem a little too fast and the dialogue is a little dull besides Damon's smart comments. This results in a hyper fast pace show. They need to take their time with all of these characters and solve three plots at a time not five.
global, ensemble this series only deserves a C- the idea is original and the story is entertaining, it just lacks in jouer la comédie and technical qualities.
