I liked all these couples at some point of the show.
Klaroline is my fave at the moment, I loved Forwood in s2, and I liked Matt and Caroline in s1 :)

Tyler and Caroline had a beautiful friendship in S2, but their relationship was rushed in S3 and now they're just ruined.

Klaus and Caroline are OOC and RIDICULOUS. When he drew her a pony I swear I was in a fanfiction-based TVD world.

Matt and Caroline are the only pairing that weren't fucked over, and in which Caroline still had personal growth whilst in the relationship.

I agree with SpuffyDelena about Tyler/Caroline and when I watched an episode from season 2 last night I didn't really see much chemistry either.

I really likes how Klaus is so sweet and nice to Caroline

I love Klaroline, but i now it will never happen :( But after them i will choose Caroline and Matt!

Soo all of a sudden Caroline and Tyler didn't have chemistry?? TVD Fans really do live in a fanfiction world. And Tyler and Carolines build up was the only one that makes sense even though I'm not too crazy about any of these shippings it's true...

Forwood
1.)They knew each other their whole lives.
2.)They spent 2x07-2x11 before Tyler got any feelings.
3.)they spent overall 2x07-2x14 before Tyler left. That's a good amount of time to grow feelings.
4.)the spent allllll summer together(2 months) as friends before the season three premiere.
5.) they spent 2x01-2x05 before they actually called it official.
6.)they spent 2x05-2x09 then broke up(Kind of)
7.)Tyler finally said I love you at 2x11 I believe and after he tried to fix himself for Caroline.

If any of these couples had a real buildup it was Forwood. Even though I don't like them all that much it's true. People are just biased by favorites.
