When Peeta was captured par the Capitol, he was tortured with an uncommon form of torture known as hijacking. Hijacking is when toi remember something, ether par someone describing the memory ou par watching a clip oof the memory, and then toi get a small dose of Tracker Jacker venom. This disorts the memory so that it seems scary. The Capitol took Peeta's memories of Katniss and hijacked them so that Peeta would see her as life threatning. Peeta tried to fight the hijacking at first, that was why when he was seen on T.V., he was fighting off madness. When Katniss saw Peeta on T.V., she was making herself sick with worry. She got worse when she realized that that President Snow was torturing Peeta just to drive her insane.
