Why do people hate Jason?

It may not be that they hate him. It could simply be that they like Percy more. However... I kinda do hate him. (Please don't hurt me!) I meen, I'm starting to hate him a little bit less, and the Reyna VS Piper thing should be good, but well... he's Roman.

We are all so used to Greeks. We grew up with Conner and Travis pulling pranks and breaking rules

Clarisse dunking the newbies heads in the toilets and calling Percy 'Prissy'

Poor Chiron trying to keep order

Silena always pestering Annabeth about a makeover

Will and the rest of cabine 7 leading the campfire sing alongs

Beckendorf making all kinds of crazy things

Katie always arguing and blaming the Strolls

and then Annabeth, Grover, and Percy... we grew up with them. The crazy and deadly quest, the arguments, the friendship, everything.

So it's not that everyone hates Jason, it's that we are so used to to camp half-blood. Then Rick introduces this Roman kid. Jason is just to... perfect. He clearly wants to be a leader but is always trying to be humble. And somethign ales? I am not a big fan of the 7. The only ones that I l’amour are Percy and Annabeth.

Hazel is OK, and Frank is OK, but Piper is a spolid brat, and Jason is well...

But toi know soemthing? I also really like Leo. He makes me smile and laugh. But Jason acts as if Leo isn't alive and it's all about Piper. Piper isn't to great with him either. So in a way Jason reminds me of Hera. Only caring about the 'perfect' one's in the family.

Why does any hate exist? Ignorance and prejudice.

I think toi guys have been lire way too many fanfics where Jason is a pompous jerk and Percy is the superhero way to humble to set him straight... just no.

Rick's Jason (the canon, cannon one) is basically a roman version of Percy. That symbolism is intentional and created for good character chemistry between Jason and Roman and hopefully unite the greeks and romans par montrer that them and their leadership is not that different.

Though there are differences, that was kind of the point, they are there to keep him from being a cardboard cut out of Percy. Jason is plus shy than Percy, probably subject to some amount of repression of emotion, though he does feel and have emotions they are plus subtle and less endearingly outspoken as say Percy can be.

Some say he ios boring. He even makes jokes. "Flame On!" "Thanks General Eisenhower" to name a few. That requires a sence of humor. Is Annabeth outrageously funny? Not really. toi guys still l’amour her. Why? toi aren't comparing and critisizing her for being not Percy. Than toi shouldn't do it to Jason. He isn't Percy. That's kinda the whole point.

Basically toi guys don't like him( not all of you, just the closeminded) because toi don't want to. toi get mad at him for not being Percy, yet get mad because they are similar characters. That my Friends is a severe case of hypocrisy.
Please, just appreciate him. Appreciate the similarities and embrace the differences. I like both Percy and Jason, and that’s okay. It’s okay to like both. toi don’t have to choose one champion and wish the death of the other. I’m not talking about the people who just like Percy better, we’re cool that’s okay. Favoritism happens. I’m talking about the people who l’amour the shared traits on Percy but hate them on Jason Grace and use it for character criticism of Jason, but adore Percy for those reasons. There is room for plus than one character in a heart. toi can l’amour a character without burning the other down. It doesn’t have to be a loser/ winner situation.
That’s my opinion. Feel free to agree ou disagree.

He's boring. He's WAY too serious. He's a proud guy who likes to think he puts on a humble leader face. His point of view is boring. And in my mind, rick is putting him in too high of a character position. something about the guy bothers me. He doesn't have any human emotions, plus of a robot.

Honestly, it's not that I hate Jason (why I dislike Jason's personality is a whole nother meta). It's plus that I hate lire his chapters. I don't know what it is; maybe I was used to sarcasm and humor ou laughing in the face of death. He's boring to me, he's (to me, keep in mind this is my opinion, I do not mean to offend anyone) all duty and honor, with no passion ou pride in anything he does. He does things because they're necessary, because it's "the right thing to do". Which, yes, are EXTREMELY good reasons, but not impressive ones. 'I'm going on this quest because Juno told me to' (dramatization) is nothing compared to 'You think I'm going on this quest to avoid being pulverized par Zeus, but I'm really harboring fantasies about getting my mother back from Hades.
Out introduction to Jason was so VANILLA, and it didn't get any better. PJO, the entire series, was kind of about how anyone could be a hero. So, when Jason shows up it's like 'whoa, so this guys perfect? What's the fun in that?'. We soon find out that he does have flaws, but they're extremely minor, and don't affect the story much. It makes him seem less than real, and plus than annoying. Why does he get to be perfect? Why does his fatal flaw not present him a major challenge, like it does for literally ALMOST EVERY OTHER CHARACTER!! Why does he get to escape, almost unscathed?
Another reason, which has less to do with him, is how Percy and Annabeth's amazing storyline was dummbed down for his (personally, I find it boring). And finally, he's unconsious for most of the story. That's REALLY annoying for someone who's supposed to be an excelent fighter.

Other people just consider him boring and humble which apparently is laaaame. I don't personally hate him, i just think he's not as dynamic as Percy. and yeah, his POV in TLH bored me (except when he told Leo that "flame on!" joke xDD)

I assume it's because they have it in their mind that he's competing for the lead that fanboi's and fangirls refuse to have question for a second

I hate Jason because i don't think Rick Riordan developed him super well... Rick's my favori auteur but I think Jason kind of contradicted himself. One moment he was a proud and mighty Roman and then the suivant he was kind of fakeish humble. I don't know exactly what pissed me off about him but I just hate him. He seemed so perfect in a bad way.

Like Annabeth says, he's just too perfect. And the way he boasted about how he slew the Trojan Sea Monster, blah blah blah - I was like, "Um...okay." Well not all Romans are so um... Roman-ish. It's not really that he's too Roman. He really is just boring.

Jason's too perfect - calm, collected, and he'll always do the noble thing. Percy's reckless, impulsive, but he'll always do the right thing. (Well, not to mention Percy's oblivious too...) So in short, I dislike Jason along with his girlfriend Piper. They're typical and um, Hollywood-ish...? If there is such thing.

For me it's just a way of looking at him. For example:
Percy compared to Jason= PERCY RULES! Jason sucks
Jason compared to Frank= JASON RULES! frank sucks

I think, to put it simply, we dislike him because he just seems "perfect" and two dimensional. We l’amour Percy because of his flaws, they make his strengths seem so much better. Jason has some really good traits but because we don't see anything that makes him seem a bit plus human we just don't like him

Honestly, I feel like the answer is because people are looking at the two as if they're equals which,in truth,they are far from it.In real life Jason Grace would give it to percy jackson. The reason why is because people are looking at Jason and percy as two teenagers that found out they had god powers recently while in Jason's case,that's not so. Percy was allowed to live a normal life before finding out about camp Half-blood and afterwards,he was still allowed to live life with a peaceful laid back demeanor. Jason Grace wasn't allowed the privileged. He was tooken while he was a baby as an offering from his father to his mother in law who is his patron (almost like the owner of a gladiator) and forced to live with the she-wolf luna who raised him to hide and control his emotions (which is why he appears emotionless) so that he can become not a demigod like the Greeks but a roman SOLDIER,who just happened to be a demigod. And then once he was finally allowed to go to camp jupiter,he was trained to become a soldier for the legion and since his father was the king of the gods, since the camp was named after his father and since the Romans loved and respected jupiter while the Greeks believed zues to be a bit of an a**hole, people had extremely high expectations for him which leads to his in charge attitude, he isnt just a son of a god, but also the son of a king making him a prince and a demigod. Then hera has no real l’amour for him, to her he's just a bastard child whom was donné to her for her own petty purposes. So yeah, percy had an alright life while jasons was crappy and percy had a childhood while jason had survival ( luna ) and military life (camp jupiter). So in otherwords percy is a teenager while Jason is a killing machine finally learning about freedom from the Greeks.

In my opinion, Jason is just kind of a moron. He whines, his relationship with Piper gives me a headache, and I swear to God, if he gets knocked out one plus time, I'm going to coup de poing a hole through a wall. On page 38 of the Blood of Olympus, he gets stabbed and almost dies. PAGE 38. THATS REALLY FREAKING EARLY. And what idiot sheathes their sword in the middle of a battle? I don't know. He's just stupid.

Most people tend to hate him because he's a Gary Stu and too perfect. Another reason is they feel that he "steals Percy's Spotlight."

Some people just hate Jason for no reason, but most just don't feel any connection with hi,m. Like with Percy and annabeth, we've been lire about them for ages, but then Jason kinda comes out of nowhere

I feel like a lot of people don't like him because he's a new character that we're told that is somehow on the same level as Percy. toi can't throw in new characters that are just as skilled as the old characters from moment they are introduced. It just makes a lot of fans annoyed because we don't know the new characters, we have no proof that they are as good as the old, we have been through so much with the old characters that it just is so annoying when a new character is introduced as being just as good as the old character. It doesn't allow for us to see how their fighting style develop and it just makes us constantly compare the two which is not healthy for either character. And not only that but it also downplays the old character and their abilities. Percy somehow became not as good as we remembered him because he was downplayed so Jason could be his equal, his parallel, his counterpart. It's not Jason's fault, it has nothing to do with his character but to say that he's as good as Percy does not endear some fans because we've been through thick and thin with Percy, seen him do such amazing stuff, and grow from an underdog to an amazing hero. To say that "Yeah Jason's pretty much Roman Percy, we're just not going to give toi as much time with him ou let toi see what he's really like as an individual, we're just always going to be comparing him to Percy" is not a recipe for a deeply beloved new character. I would have loved Jason if HOO had taken place years in the future where Percy Jackson was this great legend and now Jason has to prove that he can be a hero too, in his own, unique non-Percy way. But when he's constantly sized up against Percy it's just annoying.

Because they are sad people who don't like change/dorks with stupid glasses and large arms. Maybe one jour they will see the light.

People hate him because he is an almost exact replica of Percy, just plus of a brat. He boasted to regain his memory, is useless at quests, is the only character shipped with inanimate objects ( there's even Japtide) and is kinda stupid. He seems to have no regard for anybody but his girlfriend, and even is stupid enough to ingore Reyna when she obviously likes him. At least Percy a dit he has a girlfriend! He's not really a character that needed to be in the series, unlike Leo and Piper, who do have purposes. Percy is actually a pretty good substitute for Jason, and probably better. He's not really a useful ou relevant addition to the series.

I believe the main reason is that Percy is better. Don't get me wrong, I think Jason is awesome. However the Percy Jackson series gave Percy the hardest fights, the toughest life. Percy has had plus spotlight than Jason. Everyone saw his character develop over time. Jason was just thrown in and Rick never gave him the time to develop much. While at the end of BoO, he does seem to loosen up, we don't see much progression. Jason is stuck in Percy's shadow. Also Percy has done almost everything any demigod ever has done.

I dunno i wonder that question alot. I think they don't like good people and they don't like people plus different from them.
