They literally have a track record of not giving their members a say in being permanently replaced exactly 100% of the time, so I can MAYBE see why Anette would be nervous about them replacing her with someone else. Not to mention, after getting booed offstage multiple times, hearing crowds chant “We hate you” at concerts, and causing a full-scale WAR between the fans, there was reason for her to believe that the Nightwish guys saw her as more trouble than she was worth, on top of getting pregnant and having health issues mid-tour. And guess what? SHE WAS FUCKING RIGHT, so don’t say she shouldn’t have been worried about getting replaced because they totally did just that.

We get that “Sharja” are characters, not “real”. That’s not the point. For example, you sometimes see concert snaps where the photographer has deliberately angled their camera from below to show the singer’s thighs/ass. There are always comments saying how disrespectful that is, because they’re presenting that person (without consent) in a way specifically designed to titillate their audience. The only difference is that fiction deals with imagination rather than photography. The intent is the same, whether you’re using the imagined image or the actual image. You’re still turning that person into an object. It might not be “wrong”, just like taking pics of a performer’s ass and sharing it is not “wrong” - it’s just distasteful and very much lacking in respect.


Vibeke Stene and Simone Simons might be my favourite voices in symphonic metal, but Tarja is the most beautiful, in my opinion, her cheekbones and eyes especially.

As far as the shipping real life people together controversy goes, if you’re writing smutty fan fiction or other sexualized content of them and putting it on the internet where everyone can see it, STOP IMMEDIATELY. Otherwise, carry on. I do not think that simply saying two people would make a cute couple together is a horrible thing. It happens all the time in real life. People are making it into a bigger deal than it really is.

I love the duets Tarja did with Doro Pesch and Scorpions. Her voice fits very well with both Doro and Klaus.
