I didn't trust her, but I do believe she really loved Sam and wanted him to share in the joy of Lucifer being freed. I was never really sure what her motives were, whether to free Lucifer or prevent his release, but either way, she was working towards her own agenda. That scene with Dean coming at her and then Sam holding her - that was SO powerful, and right now it's my favourite scene from the show.
