SG1-090 picked Both:
Young Sam was so lovely and cute - sweetest kid ever! Aye that's exactly how you would want your kid to be? =]

Young Dean was so....damaged...come to think of it...he's probably worse now D=

I still hold Sam is the way he is...more confident more assured of his value as a person, the list goes on...because of Dean!

Lunaste picked Young Sam:
The actor who played NotSoWee!Dean did a pretty good job of impersonating the characteristics and inflections Jensen Ackles has given to Dean, but still, his parts in this episode didn't do much for me. Been there, seen that, got the t-shirt.

Wee!Sam... I just wanted to hug him and give him a cup of tea and tell him that it would all be all right.
This episode both revealed new things about Sam and reinforced what we've already know of him. Poor silently suffering Sam (hey, alliteration), standing up for the weaker people, not wanting to show his bad side (his demonhunting/asskicking side in this episode was a metaphor for the side of him that wants to use his powers, methinks) but having to, eventually, because he knows it's the right thing even when using the wrong means.
And I loved how Sam thought he was doing the right thing and then he got all broken again when he found out he actually wasn't. Ouch, mein heart.

I gotta agree with Lunaste, I was not overly impressed with Brock Kelly as Dean in this ep. I just don't think he did that much for the character. I know we can't expect Dean in 1997 to be exactly like present day Dean (maybe because of what happened to him there) but there was just something missing!
Where as Colin Ford was awesome as Sammy again! I also just wanted to look after him and we really saw how Sammy developed from there!
Ok some of this may have been down to script and direction but that is never usually an issue with SPN for me!
