Where Stranger Things Could Go in Season 2

First off, if the above warning relates to you because you haven\'t watched the entire first season of Netflix\'s absolutely stellar new horror series

, then I must demand you to take care of that as soon as you\'re finished reading this story and several others from this fine website. Because as soon as the last episode is over, viewer whiplash sets in as the questions pile up over what, if anything, will happen next for the characters that remain. Executive producer Shawn Levy (of those

films) recently shared his optimism for the show\'s future, as well as the direction it would be headed in.

We definitely are hopeful to go several more seasons. And the plan is to continue with this set of characters while introducing a few critical key new ones next season. So I\'ll just say that a lot of the big mysteries get answered at the end of Season 1, but we are very much kind of unearthing new problems and questions that merit future stories and future investigation in the most enjoyable way. So we are in love with our cast and our characters.

Things end up being resolved to some extent at the end of Season 1, but not entirely. And that\'s why we\'re so hopeful we get another few seasons to live with these people a little longer.

Season 1 ended on a note that was anything but all wrapped up, making another season fairly necessary for the vocally rabid fanbase that has built up amazingly quick since the season debuted on Netflix on July 15, less than two weeks ago. Creators Matt and Ross Duffer have put together a lot of ideas for the mythology and stories behind the secrets and mysteries of

-friendly Upside Down location. And thanks to Levy\'s words to SlashFilm, we know that our bike-riding besties and more will probably be matching wits with some new folks, while getting bogged down in some non-Will problems and complications. Hopefully some role-playing games, too.

That is, assuming a second season gets ordered up. Star Matthew Modine recently got a little too overzealous with his words by saying that Season 2 was definitely happening, even thought Netflix still has yet to offer up anything official about it. But we\'re talking about Netflix, a company that seems incapable of only giving any of its projects a single season. Even

somehow gets excised before at least another 3 seasons have come and gone, we riot! Notice those flickering lights, Netflix.

The first season centers on the disappearance of young Will Byers, and how it affects his mother (played by Winona Ryder), his brother and his group of best friends, all of which are excellently conceived characters. It consistently builds dread as the layers are pulled back and the weirdness going on in this area is brought out in full, but there\'s a nice darkly comedic threat running throughout, as well. And that soundtrack! We can only hope that the people behind the music are some of the first ones to sign up for more.
