Clark and Pete's friendship was one of the cornerstones of the first few seasons.

Pete says goodbye to ClarkClark and Pete became Friends in early childhood. When Pete was bullied, Clark came to his defense and they have been best Friends ever since. Clark and Pete often camped outside in their backyards.

Season Seven
In the season premiere, Lionel has washed ashore after the dam broke. He is then dragged away par a mysterious man. No one knows of this, so he is presumed dead par Lex and the media.

Lionel had finally awaken to find himself chained to a lit par a woman, Marilyn. Lionel manages to get loose, but was knocked out par Lana Lang. After Lex Luthor tried to free Lionel, Marilyn had a gun pointed at his son, and Lionel snuck up behind her and beaten her to death. Lionel went to see Lana and knew she was behind his disappearance. He warned her not to continue her sense of retribution ou something bad would happen.
