Three years ago, if toi told Lee Jinki that someday he’ll meet a child who will test his very being; if toi told him that in three years time he may have slipped/tripped/landed on his head/fell/said something not as funny as intended up on stage and backstage plus times than anyone else in the world; if toi told him that he’ll be one of the leads in several musicals; and if toi told him that he’ll be known as one of Korea’s best singers, Lee Jinki would laugh it off and maybe even say “That’s impossible for me to do.”
Three years ago, if toi told Kim Jonghyun that everyone would compare him to a dinosaur and for some reason he’d agree; if toi told him that his voice actually soothes a lot of people at night while listening to their songs to lull them to sleep; if toi told him that he wouldn’t get any taller in the future; and if toi told him that in three years time he’d find himself bowing to the fans for something he may have wanted to do on his own free will, Kim Jonghyun would probably procrastinate about how incroyable that is and complain about the height remark.
Three years ago, if toi told Kim Kibum that he’d be a competitive parent over a child and a teenager; if toi told him that one jour he’d be one of the most honest people alive; if toi told him that in one of their albums half of his hair will be shaved off; and if toi told him that he’d be one of the most fantastic male divas in the world, Kim Kibum would probably freak out and wish that everything would go that way “Except for the hair part, of course!”.
Three years ago, if toi told Choi Minho that he’d be known as the tall, deep-voiced frog who livens an interview with his flaming charisma; if toi told him that every other idol group would say “Damn it, why can’t he be our groupmate?” during athletic idol meets; if toi told him that when people listen to their songs they’d shiver at his lines because of how deep his voice is; and if toi told him that he looked like a Mexican rather than a Korean, Choi Minho would probably laugh at that last commentaire and would even doubt being that charismatic.
Three years ago, if toi told Lee Taemin that he’d be the one who would usually liven up a performance with his dancing; if toi told him that his tiny teenage voice would rival that of his groupmate’s lead vocal; if toi told him that he’d be jailbait for all the Noonas, including some who would creepily pedo over him; and if toi told him that at one time he’d look like a girl, Lee Taemin would jokingly complain why “Kibum-hyung can’t be the girl lookalike” and probably even say everything they a dit about all the other members (including him) would probably be outrageously impossible.
Three years ago, if toi told SHINee—the once shy and humble-minded group—that they had a million fans not just over South Korea, not just even in Asia, but around the whole world; if toi told them that they could have the potential of rivaling one of the most successful korean pop groups, who would so happen to have the same label as theirs; and if toi told them that in three years time they’ve done numerous concerts alongside their labelmates, and have two solo concerts for themselves? They wouldn’t believe it. Heck, maybe everyone else wouldn’t think of it.
Who would’ve thought, though.
