Sherlock sat in the back of the police car as they escorted him back to the brownstone, back to his family. He couldn't believe he was finally going accueil to them, he missed waking up to them every morning. As they pulled up outside, Joan was standing on the doorstep with Joseph.

It had been almost an heure since Sherlock went down to the basement. Joan had began to pace in front of the door wondering who could be down there, she knew it wasn't Irene as she was in prison. She stopped pacing to open the door, she heard Sherlock's voice but didn't recognize the other one. She crept quietly down further reaching the door at the bottom, she carefully opened the door and peered through the small gap.

They left Gregson's office holding each others hand and found Oscar sitting in the corridor.
'Holmes, what's going on I've been here for almost two hours.'

Set a couple of months after the trial

As Sherlock sat, waiting for Joan, he thought about the past couple of years. His relationship with Joan has gone from strength to strength, sure they've had their moments but what couple hasn't? He has a beautiful baby boy, who he adores so much and his relationship with his father has gone from none existent to rebuilding. And now he's here.
