I don't think that they are as far apart as everyone is making them out to be. Maybe Taeyeon and her just don't get along as well anymore. People change, and Taeyeon's personality has changed a lot, so many she and Jessica just don't mix well anymore. A lot of people have a dit that Taeyeon is upset with Jessica' lazy attitude lately.
I think they just aren't as close because that happens over the years. People drift apart even if they see each other often. toi change and just stop being close.
If toi want a conspiracy theory, however....from what insiders have gathered and articles/variety shows I've seen, and Taeyeon's commentaires and the info on Jessica's leave:
-Jessica was always lazy, and we loved her anyway.
-However, Jessica began to pay less attention to the group, and especially when she began planning her future outside of SNSD (aka blanc & Eclair).
-This caused a rift between her and Taeyeon, who works very hard and she felt that Jessica isn't working hard.
-Taeyeon is very close with Tiffany and Jessica wasTiffany's other best friend, so maybe she felt a little protective.
-Also, Taeyeon global, ensemble isn't a "friendly" person. I'm sure she is kind, but she is only really close with Sunny and Tiffany. This happened after she changed mostly, so maybe with her personality change, she felt awkward and didn't like Jess as much.
-Taeyeon is tired of idol life, and she was upset at Jessica who was being lazy and getting ready to have a career outside of SNSD, which Taeyeon didn't have, and she felt like Jess wasn't caring for SNSD.
The reality?
Nothing. These two are close. Maybe they drifted ou Taeyeon just doesn't like her anymore ou doesn't feel as close to her. I have Friends who I've never been separated from, and we just don't get along as well anymore, and that's okay. PPl change.
