Emotional pain can be as harmful as physical pain, depending on the situation.

TBH I almost think that we should take it more seriously.

^ I also Zan think that too. In my opinion, physical pain is temporary but emotional pain in some cases can scar a person for life.

Doctors already don't take physical pain seriously, and they care even less about emotional pain. I don't think we should take one more seriously than the other though. A lot of physical pain is NOT temporary. Chronic pain exists, and can bring on emotional pain as well. Both need equal attention.

Any form of pain needs to be taken seriously and treated.

Agreed with Zeppie.
Both of those, in extreme measures, can make someone wish for death.
Neither of them hurts more in a general sense. It depends on the person and it depends on the pain itself. In fact, emotional pain involves the same brain regions as physical pain( the anterior insula and the anterior cingulate cortex ), suggesting the two are inextricably connected. It all comes down to pain tolerance. Some are better at tolerating emotional pain than physical and some are better at physical. So, any way. What Zeppie said. Any form of pain needs to be taken seriously and treated.

Take them both seriously - especially the medical profession should. Unfortunately, many don't - patients are left suffering. Doctors don't seem to be trained enough to treat either - if they cannot fix it right away - they don't bother. In really bad cases patients commit suicide - sometimes taking others with them. Even after some of these suicides, looking into the causes and trying to prevent other cases is not on the "To Do List" of doctors or governments.
