Should the guy always pay? Wait, we're still in the 21st century, right? What's wrong with going halfsies? I mean, I'm cool with once in a while for a treat or a present or something. But always? No. Just no. If you expect a guy to always pay, that's unfair and shallow, and good luck finding a guy who's not rich.
