What would happen to the character I'm écriture in my book in this situation?

I need help figuring out what would exactly happen to this character in this particular situation. I've looked it up and I found an article that helped some but not enough. If any of toi know anything else that would happen in this situation, let me know because that would help A LOT!

The Situation: The character is a ten-year-old boy that had been an orphan ever since he was a baby. He has no blood relatives that he knows of. He attempts to commit suicide par jumping off the docks par the ocean. A police officer sees this and manages to save him after he jumps out of the water. He's still suicidal and plans on jouer la comédie on it, refuses to tell the police ou anyone else (like doctors ou whoever) what his name is (Other than saying, John Doe, which is a name hospitals use for men when they don't know who they are), doesn't have any family to look after him, and isn't stable enough to be let go.

Where would he go? To a psychiatric hospital? Rehab? An asylum? ou what? If toi know, please tell me and if toi know anything specific that they'd do with a patient of his age in this situation, please tell me. I appreciate any kind of help that I get, thank toi in advance.

Also, when he was 8 he ran away from an abusive orphanage and has lived on the streets ever since.

He might get caught par a mother-type person on the streets for whatever reason with cuts all over his arms and forcibly taken to a hospital.

ou somebody might accidentally find him almost dead and then take him to a hospital.

I don't think he be on the streets for a long time. Someone would notice a little kid all alone. I thin he got to a psychiatric hospital of a different foster accueil with people who specialize in these kind of problems.

I think that sending him to a psychiatric hospital would be the best option.I also think it would be a good idea if the psychiatrist that treats him would decide to adopt the boy after realizing that all the boy really needs to become better is parental love.

He could run into a gang on the streets. They would have taken him in, raise him and teach him to surpress his grief and use it to get the job done !!!!
