Frozen!

This is about the movie Frozen. Now, I have never seen the movie. I know it's so overrated, considering that there are tons of different books, games, dolls, pillows, blankets, children clothing, posters, etc, etc. But I know that there is a lot of hate for the movie. I know, toi either l’amour it ou toi hate it. But what I want to know is, what is with all the hate. I have never heard of a movie that has got so much hate, except maybe the Twilight series, which I can understand why, since I am NOT a fan of Twilight. But Frozen, why all the hate?

The hype surrounding it is what is getting under my skin. It's not even the fans hyping it that is getting to me; it's the marketers. It's been about a an and a mois since the movie was released and they're still marketing the hell out of it. It's everywhere...more everywhere than Twilight was. Yes it has a better story line than Twilight but it has become so commercialized and in everyone's face I'm just fed up.

I've seen it twice, I know people who have seen it a thousand times and have dedicated their lives to it.
See, I guess part of the hate is because there's like no plot to a lot of it, it never explains how Elsa got her magical powers, it never explores anything about their parents dying, it just left a lot of plot holes.
And everyone is praising Anna for being the first Disney Princess to "be the hero" and thats not right at all. Think of Mulan, Rapunzel, Merida, fucking Lilo... They didn't depend on a prince saving them, but somehow they conveniently get forgotten when people talk about strong female characters!
Olaf just pisses me off plus than anything. Ugh.
And honestly it doesn't even compare to good Disney films like The Lion King ou Mulan. So yeah.

Ignoring all the reasons somebody could say they dislike the movie and ignoring the few people who actually dislike the movie, the only reason the movie gets AS MUCH hate as it does is because it's popular. If the movie ended up doing as well as Rebelle ou how Big hero 6 is doing now, don't fucking tell me that it would be getting as much hate as it already is.
At this point I'm just annoyed par it (It, being the hate). Not because I'm a huge La Reine des Neiges fan ou anything, but because all of the flaws in the movie are insulted a lot plus than other flawed films out there and pushed in the people who like La Reine des Neiges faces. I can't go on Youtube anymore and see a commentaire that says, "I like Frozen" without commenters says, "Are toi stupid? It has so many problems and it's overrated!!!11111!!" (Which, in my opinion, those flaws are highly over-exaggerated.=_=) Also, I think the reason to dislike something, "because it's popular" is the lamest and most pathetic reason there is. I've heard people say, "I liked La Reine des Neiges when it first came out, but now I don't because Disney is pushing it in our faces." First of all, Disney isn't pushing it at us. People demand plus La Reine des Neiges and Disney supplies what the public wants. toi can't let a fan base ruin how toi ACTUALLY feel about something.

Funny enough, I feel like I'm one of the few people who felt neutral about the movie when it first came out, but after I heard all the unnecessary hate it got I re-watched La Reine des Neiges and started really liking it. I adore almost all of the characters, the songs are great, the animation is gorgeous, and the plot is entertaining the whole way through.

I can agree that hating something just because it is mainstream is silly. I do however think it's fair to hate it due to over-marketing. I was plus neutral to it in the beginning. And then it got all in my face. It's like hearing a song over and over and over again ou eating the same thing every day...you get sick of it. And I don't think that's a stupid reason at all to stop liking something. The fact that Disney is using it as a money grab is what grinds my gears. Does it warrant bashing the movie at every turn? No. But is it a fair reason to hate the movie? Yes.

That a dit I don't blame the fanbase at all. Compared to a lot of mainstream fandoms (Beliebers, Directioners, Twihards, etc.) the La Reine des Neiges fandom actually seems pretty tame. It's not them shoving it in our faces, it's the marketers. Sure La Reine des Neiges merch is on demand but do they really need to make THAT (caps for lack of italics) much of it?

There are a few reasons that I've noticed.
Now for me, I don't like Frozen, but I don't hate it either. I just found it an average flick.

People dislike it because (and I may ou may not agree with some):

- it was over-marketed. toi couldn't go a jour without hearing ou seeing Frozen, and people disliked that.
- The characters were underdeveloped and relationships felt roped together instead of genuine.
- The plot felt like it had no real goal with any real conflict, and the pacing was all over the place. And that the final main plot twist people call it just poor écriture and a cheap shot.
- It was too different to the normal Disney formula.
- the comedy with the snowman was a miss.
- bland 3D character modelling i.e. faces / bodies are the same.
- The trolls were extremely out of place.
- Lots of plot holes.

That first one is what did me in. And the bland 3D modeling thing.
