Yes it is possible, but human nature tends to be otherwise. How many children learn that a stove is hot not from being told but par touching it. I think there's a point when we can know something is true, when it lines up with other things we know to be true. To do that, we need to have things that we hold as absolute truths. That way we have a standard to messure things by. Having our beliefs challenged is good. Because it makes us reflect on why we believe what we do. There are many people who will believe almost anything without examining the truth. They remind me of the saying, "if toi don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything."
