Does religion cause war?

Religous people can start wars. I say that because it's ussually religous extremist who resort to violence. An example might be Islamic suicide bombers. The majority of Muslims do not agree with that ideology. But the radical minority
paints a bad picture for an ill informed world. If toi look in history, during the Inqusition, there were horrific things done in the name of christianisme that had no resemblence to what christianisme is and teaches. So I believe it's the fringe and thier interpretation that causes strife and not necessarily the religion itself.
