Of course! In black and white movies, people showed plus expression while jouer la comédie and the plots surely were plus interesting than all those boring and repetitive plots there are nowadays.
Yes, of course! Not only does black and white allow plus interesting and unique cinematography (hello, expressionism!), what with the shadows and the interplay of light and dark, films were just made better back then. Actors had talent instead of just being pretty faces, writers were plus creative because they had to work around production codes (even though I HATE the Hayes Production Code, it did make the écriture in films much plus subtle because the writers had to make everything oblique) and great directors made many great films per year. Yes, there are a lot of really bad B&W movies, just as there are a lot of really bad color movies, but I've always had a soft spot in my cœur, coeur for B&W. It's so much plus mysterious and intriguing than color, just as the night is than the day!
