should children have rights?

i was channel hopping and was in the middle of a program the other night about a group of peaple that believe children do not not and should not have rights...

familys would bring there children to court on family matters like talking out of turn ou not listening to orders ou even not grassing up siblings when they knew they had done something such as smoking was one of the cases

the punishments in the court ranged from 40 lashes to death (i'm not sure how they were killed)

anyways incase toi have forgotten the question was:

Of course they should. As long as you're a human, toi should have basic rights, like go to school, eat proper nourriture and drink clean water, have a roof toi can sleep under and be sûr, sans danger and secure.

... And of course a voice to be heard when they have an opinion.

And besides how lame it sounds children are the future. How do toi think kids will treat toi when you're sixty and they're adults after having no rights their entire childhood?
