BY FAR! Serena is the worst female traveling companion so far. Misty is one of my favorite fictional characters and my absolute favorite on the show. Ever since she left the show it sucks.

Anyway, I picked Serena because Misty was so mean toward Ash.

@xijinping That's a matter of opinion. After Misty left it SUCKED! And I'm not that much of a Genwunner. If I was I wouldn't count anything part season 2 when they added new Pokemon. The problem lies in the writing of the show and the characters. The traveling companions after Misty were annoying, May and Dawn were just cheap copies of Misty because they even repeated having their bikes destroyed, they unnecessarily change Team Rocket's motto every time Ash gets new traveling companions, they replaced the old voice actors with horrible voices. Brock got more generic with each passing season, Ash got more annoying with each passing season, they eventually got rid of Brock, Team Rocket lost all their charm, they try to make it seem like there is something romantic between Ash and the girl he travels with even though they have no chemistry (especially compared to Misty), in BW they changed the designs of some characters that we already know, and they even had the nerve to have Ash forget after all this time that you need to weaken a Pokemon in order to capture it. Besides, this show has gone on WAY too long! Eventually a show has to end! It's not like with the Pokemon video games where they can make it as long as they want without making it be too repetitive or stale. I have no problem with the games going on and adding new Pokemon or whatever. The show is a different story. How much longer can the freaking have this show go before they realize that they need to stop? Plus, since they replace the characters except for Ash every time, I really don't care anymore. I can try to tolerate it with Ash and Brock, even though they aren't the same as they used to be. May, Max, and Dawn were annoying and it didn't help that they replaced my favorite character on the show. WIth May and Max the show started out as okay and became bad. Then WIth Dawn is started off as bad and turned into awful. After Dawn it became INSUFFERABLE! Ash became insufferable too and he became less and less like the Ash I knew after Misty left, especially now. If it wasn't for the fact he looked like Ash and the show told me he was Ash, I never would have guessed that it was Ash because he is completely different, just like all the other original characters from the first five seasons. It's all a matter of opinion.

@KataraLover With all due respect I disagree with what you said. The anime reached it's peak at DP, crashed and burned in BW, and is awesome again in XY. While I do like the original series, what comes after is certainly did not suck.

@KataraLover I gotta admit you do sound a bit genwunnerish. All later female leads save Iris are not a cheap clone of Misty and all have their unique personalities, and non of them are annoying. In fact, it's Misty who's the most annoying girl on the show because of her 24/7 non-stop bickering with Ash.

Misty is good pokemon trainer than serena.

Serene is just other female character, after Dawn I lost all interest in the main female character, they all ended up with no personality or a copy of Misty/May.

Serena is my favorite female companion by far. My second favorite being Bonnie, third being Dawn, third least being May, second least being Misty, and my least favorite being Iris.

Misty is my favorite. I love the rest also, May, Dawn, Iris, etc. XY falls short, the story isn't clear and the new characters are bland and have no real direction. That doesn't mean I dislike them, because I don't they have grown on me. It also looks like the new series will be much worst.

Misty was a total bitch in the original series, I hated her in Indigo League, she got better later in the series but it still made me no difference to me liking her, May replacing her was the best decision ever, while May or Dawn aren't options, I vote for Serena.
