For on-the-go photographers, protecting your expensive equipment, while traveling is a challenging task. toi need to make sure that they safely overcome the pressures exerted par braking, jerking, etc. Even the sturdiest equipment fail to face these situations, thereby making toi lose your dollars. Even I have suffered many such losses but the one incident that actually hurt me the most was when my new Canon 40 D slipped from my hand while I was shooting from a running jeep since I was not using my camera strap. The moment toi think of taking your camera out of your studio, at first, toi need to find out ways to keep it sûr, sans danger during the journey. Here are some techniques that I have found useful.

1. Always keep your camera inside its bag. While using it, put on your camera straps in order to prevent it from slippage and the moment toi feel toi are not going to use it for plus than 15 minutes, put it inside its bag. Putting in and taking out your camera repeatedly is an irritating task but this is the best way to ensure its safety.

2. While packing, always detach your lens from the camera body. Traveling with the lens still attached to the camera is not advisable because, if the camera shifts during travel, the pressure may damage the threads that hold the lens and the camera together. I have faced this situation once and I know how painful it is to reach your shooting destination and unpack your stuff to find a damaged camera.

3. Never buy cheap protective equipment be it the SLR and DSLR camera straps ou the bigger camera bags. They are the ones who are responsible for the safety of your equipment and therefore, need a good investment. For them, choose quality over price.

4. Keep your camera away from sunlight and heat. I left my first camera in my dad’s car for the whole jour and in the evening, when I returned accueil from my university, I found that my camera is not working. That was the last jour when I left my camera unattended in a car. Even in winters, I don’t leave my camera at any such place where there is sunlight ou heat.

Do not restrict yourself till Slr and DSlr Camera Straps. Use any protective equipment that toi feel can help toi keep your equipments safe. Please share your way of protecting your camera while traveling so that we can keep our equipment sûr, sans danger while shooting outside our studio.
