Where have I been all of your lives? School! But it's the weekend and I'll be écriture all night and I'm doing a short series of "Without Annabeth" up to part five :)
Here's part three for everyone, and part four will be up tonight :)
“Malcolm get out of bed, Annabeth a dit I am in charge while she’s gone and that means toi have to listen to me, so get the Hades up!” I told Malcolm as I shook him rapidly. He groaned and pulled the covers over his head.
“Breakfast is in ten minutes, and if you’re not up I’m going to have to take the blame because I’m in charge so get up!” I yelled. He groaned again and rolled over to put his back to her. That’s when I decided that I wasn’t playing around anymore, and I yanked the blankets off and threw them across the room.
“Get. Up. And if you’re not up and ready before I say it’s time to go, we’re going to have a problem, so let’s go!”
I took his clothes for the jour out of his dresser and threw that on the lit and walked out of the boys section of the cabin.
He always listened to Annabeth, but of course she’s still not back from searching for Percy. We all miss her, but we understand that she feels like she has to do this. She’s definitely scared, oh but don’t tell her I a dit that because she’ll kill me. toi think I’m kidding, don’t you?
“Okay, okay I’m up Lauren. Happy now?” Malcolm a dit walking towards me and rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.
“Ecstatic. Now get dressed and brush your teeth, breakfast is in five minutes,” I told him pushing him into the bathroom.
“Alright, Mom, here I go,” He a dit sarcastically and emphasizing on the word mom. I rolled my eyes and told him that I’m not his mom and to hurry up before I brush his teeth for him.
“Okay, everyone! Let’s go! Breakfast time!” I yelled while walking towards the door to open it. Everyone started filing out and surprisingly, Malcolm wasn’t the last one, Madeline was which was surprising because she’s usually the first one out of the door. I stopped her and asked her if anything was wrong.
“No, it’s nothing. I just miss Annabeth. The cabine isn’t really the same and everyone is kind of jouer la comédie up,” she explained staring down at the ground and occasionally looking back up at me. I knew it’d be hard for her because she was the youngest, but she was right. Everyone was kind of jouer la comédie up and not being themselves. Annabeth was like the main magnet of the cabin. She was the one who kept everyone together.
“It’s hard Madeline, but toi know Annabeth. If she knew this is how we were all reacting to her leaving to look for Percy, she’d be pretty mad. We have to stay strong for her! And although it’s okay to miss her we can’t all just shut down because she’s gone,” I told her as little tears streamed down her cheeks. I brought her into a hug, but pulled away because she started to talk.
“Why couldn’t she just let Jason, Piper, and Leo try to find him ou send someone else?”
“Come on, Maddie. You’re smart enough to know Annabeth went. She feels like she has to be the one to find him, and that’s okay. She has the right to feel that way,” I a dit pulling her back into a quick hug. “Now let’s get to breakfast before it’s over,” We walked out of the cabine and jogged to keep up with the group.
When we got to our dining table, tableau I sat suivant to the empty spot that’s at the head of the table, tableau that Annabeth always sits at. I sit at the left of her and Malcolm to the left and then Madeline suivant to me. I offered half my French pain grillé to Athena and half of my eggs to Hermes, asking him to give Annabeth sûr, sans danger travels.
“Thanks, Lauren,” Maddie told me as she sat down suivant to me.
“Why are toi thanking me?” I asked, confused.
“Because toi helped me, and you’re the most like Annabeth, so talking to toi is kind of like talking to her. toi guys are both of my favori half siblings, but don’t tell Malcolm that because he thinks that he is,” she a dit giggling and then shoving a piece of pain grillé into her mouth. I laughed to and plopped a grain de raisin, raisin into my mouth.
“It’s no problem, Maddie. toi didn’t even have to thank me. I’m always here for you. Oh, and don’t worry I won’t tell Malcolm a thing,” I a dit pretending to lock my lips and throw away the key.
The rest of the breakfast was filled with a débats about if Percy and Annabeth “will last forever,” which I don’t think Annabeth would appreciate, but Malcolm insisted that they weren’t going to last and I just had to object. I think sometimes that Malcolm acts dumb on purpose, because he is smart because of the fact that he’s one of Athena’s children, ou he just got mixed up and is supposed to me a child of Hermes because he reminds everyone of Travis Stole.
