Skipper struggled to open his eyes. He found himself lying on the floor of Marlene's place. His head was still throbbing. The last thing he remembered was Antonio punching him, so he blacked out. Wait, where was Marlene? He trudged to his feet.
"Marlene?! Marlene?!" Skipper a dit wandering out of the cave. The sun shone brightly in the afternoon sky. How long had he been out for? With one step vers l'avant, vers l’avant he heard a crinkling sound under his left foot. It was a piece of paper with a letter. It read:
Dear Skipper,
I have your precious, Marlene. If toi want her toi will follow the map on the back of this paper to find my secret lair. Good luck surviving the journey, though. I have a few plus suprises. Only these suprises will crush toi and your team on the way. On your way toi will meet five of my minions, toi have already met one. Here's a hint: Kowalski won't know what to think when I spring the seconde minion up on toi and your team.
Your old frienemy,
Hans
"No!" Skipper cried. He sprinted to the H.Q. rapidly with the paper in his flipper. Skipper didn't wait one seconde to tell the team the bad news. They immediately began to pack only essentials. They each had a jug for water attached to a strap which went around their necks. They soon began their quest.
"So Antonio was a bad guy afterall. But how did he kidnap Marlene if toi were there? ou did toi lose a fight with him?" Private asked puzzledly. Skipper had failed to mention how Antonio beat him unconscuiss, and wasn't planning to admit it.
"Private, that's got to be the most ridiculaus, naive, juvenile thing I've heard toi ask. If they did fight Skipper would beat up Antonio." Kowalski reassured Private.
"Actually, I was walking and I found the note." Skipper said.
"So, Antonio might not be bad." Private a dit almost sounding disappointed for his leader.
"Um, my gut is still saying he's bad." Skipper hastily changed the subject, "In the note Hans a dit that there will be some suprises waiting for us and that it's going to be difficult to survive." Skipper a dit firmly.
"I'm scared! Do you think we'll make it, Skippah?" Private whimpered.
"I don't know, Private, but no matter what happens to any of us the others have to keep fighting." Skipper said.
"Oh, good golly! He's right! His lair is in the middle the Sahara dessert!" Kowalski exclaimed.
"Aw, man," Rico moaned.
"We're doomed." Kowalski sighed.
"No, we're not and I order toi all to calm down!" Skippr commanded.
"Skipper, do toi know how many dangers await us in the dessert?! We could easily dehydrate ou be biten par vemonous snakes or-" Kowalski got interupted par Private.
"Badgers!" Private cried.
"Badgers?" Rico cried.
"I'm pretty sure there are no badgers in the Sahara dessert, toi nancy cats. Now let's go!" Skipper remarked. The team started their long trip. They took the submarine and began to ride it across the Atlantic. As it got later, the team began to eat some fish.
"Kowlaski anaylzis."
"Skipper, we're running out of fish." Kowalski reported.
"All engines stop." Skipper ordered.
"What's wrong, Skippah?" Private asked.
"We're running out of fish. Let's go fishing." Skipper declared.
They all rushed out the vessal and into the frigid water. Skipper kept up with Private and stayed par his side. Just then Private rammed into Kowalski accidentily. Blood flowed through the once pure looking water. It was from Private's beak- which still was spurting out blood. Out of nowhere came a vicious requin that must have smelled Private's blood. Her mouth pride open, she charged at her unsuspecting dinner. Skipper motioned to his team which signaled them "to go and he'd distract the beast". They each hesitated but realized they had no choice. Skipper paddled rapidly away from the shark, but it was barely any use. She was right on his tail-feathers. Suddenly the furious chase seemed to be over. Skipper turned his head from side to side, but there was no sign of the shark, who wanted to slake her hunger of killing him for Hans. Just then from below him the requin swam up. Luckily, Skipper swurved out of the carnivore's reach with not a seconde to spare. The team was in a panic inside the submarine. Private wrapped his trembling flippers around Kowalski, who could only cover the eyes of and comfort the little penguin. Rico reguriated several weapons. Then he found it, a treacherous torpedo. It was perfect if only he could hit the requin but dodge Skipper.
With limited caution he fired. Skipper watched as the torpille approached at an intimidating rate. He closed his eyes hoping it would end soon, but it did. At first he thought he was dead. His eyes blinked open. He was alive! he swam up to the vessel.
"Boys, toi saved my life!" Skipper gasped for air.
"You put yours on the line for us." Private said. Rico was still swimming. He was picking up the pieces of exploded requin to eat as sushi.
"Maybe things will get better tomorrow." Kowalski sugested, "we should get some sleep, probably. I'll steer."
"That's sounds like a pretty great idea," Skipper declared, just then he noticed Private drinking out of his cantine, "Private! toi should be saving that water for the whole journey, not now!"
"Sorry, Skippah. Goodnight!"
"Goodnight, boys."
Marlene opened her eyes, but had to close them and reopen them to make sure they were really open. She had a throbbing headache that seemed to linger. She got up off the ground and stepped forward. Her eyes examined the room thoroughly. She stumbled into something. Some one must have heard her. A voice came from the other side of the door she didn't recongize. She listened closely to the voice that had a thick Danish accent.
"I think our beau-tiful guest of honor is awake. I'm going to meet her." The Danish voice a dit happily. Marlene gasped.
"Yep, I hear her. Good luck, she still loves that idiot penguin. par the way are we going to crush him soon?" Antonio muttered.
"You will get your reward soon. Don't worry."
"I better, it wasn't so easy dealing with that stupid girl. Let alone act like her pathetic dream guy."
"Hey!" Hans said.
"Yeah, right," She murmered.
"Who knew Antonio was in on this plot all along? That's right Skipper did!" Marlene thought silently. The door began to creak open slowly. Standing in the doorway was a short puffin. It was Hans!
"Hans?!" Marlene shouted, "What do toi want from me? Why am I here?! Antonio? Why would toi do this to me?"
"Eh, he paid me." Antonio shrugged scanning his claws.
"I want you, Marlene. Everything about you."
"What do toi mean?"
"You're dazzling."
"You're just using me, but thanks.
"If I was just using toi would I give toi all this?" Hans a dit turning the light switch to on. Marlene was surronded par dressers. On haut, retour au début were make-up and expensive jewelry. Marlene opened a closet. It was full of golden Spanish gutiars.
"They're all made of real gold." Hans said.
"Wow!" Marlene a dit astonishedly.
