Leila and Greeley talked, discussing what they could do for his birthday. Leila asked, "What do toi want for your birthday, Greeley?" He replied, "I would like to spend the jour with you, my friend." She said, "I know that, but I mean what do toi want as a gift?" He said, "A simple card will be fine. toi don't have to get me anything special." She said, "But you're my friend, and toi gave me a great gift for my birthday in March. I have to return the favor." He said, "All right. Surprise me." She said, "I'll figure something out." After a pause, Greeley said, "My mother will be baking a cake." Leila said, "That's wonderful. What's a birthday without cake?" He said, "That's what I'm saying. It's going to be chocolate." She said, "That's your favorite, right?" He said, "That's right." She then asked, "What do toi want to do for your birthday?" He said, "I don't know yet." She said, "Well, your birthday is in three days. toi need to decide quickly." He said, "Don't worry. I'll figure it out." Greeley didn't figure out anything, but Leila did. She learned that the band, New Religion, was going to be giving an outdoor concert. With help from her aunt and uncle, she bought two tickets. This would be perfect for Greeley.
Shortly after the incident, the members of The Devil Wants Peace were interviewed. The interviewer asked, "John, is it true that toi overcame your fear of water before toi saved Allen?" John replied, "It's true." The interviewer asked, "Is it true that the rest of toi were surprised when John swam so quickly?" Stan said, "Yes. I knew that his girlfriend, Caryn, taught him how to swim, but I didn't know she taught him to swim so well." Peter said, "I was impressed at how Rebelle he was, too." Allen said, "Yeah. I'll never forget what he did for me." John said, "Thank Caryn. She's the one who taught me how to swim." Caryn saw the interview on the news, and she was very touched. Later, John a dit to Caryn, "Thank toi for everything toi did for me this summer." She said, "You're welcome." He said, "Your l’amour for me is what motivated toi to help me, and in the end, I was able to help my mates. l’amour conquers fear. I truly believe that."
