Catherine's Point of View
One October day, it had started out normally. Gavin and I had a really good jour until the last class of the day. We had some free time at the end of the class. There was a girl calling me ugly and deformed. I was upset, but I tried not to montrer that she got to me. Gavin came up beside me and said, "Hey! Be nice to her!" The girl asked, "What are toi gonna do? Boys can't hit girls." He said, "I know, but if they could, you'd be the first one I'd hit." She said, "But girls can hit boys." He said, "Go ahead! Hit me!" She punched him in the mouth, knocking out a tooth. The bully laughed. She said, "I guess ya spoke too soon." She walked away. I noticed that Gavin was putting his hand where the tooth would have been. He saw blood and fainted. Until then, I had never been so scared. "Gavin!" I cried. He didn't answer. I shouted, "Gavin! Wake up! Please!" He finally woke up. I said, "Oh, my God! Gavin! Are toi okay?!" He said, "Yeah. I'm okay."
Gavin's Point of View
Getting punched in the mouth was awful. Waking up on a dusty floor was just as bad. At least Catherine had the decency to ask if I was okay. Nobody else did. When I finally got up, Catherine said, "I guess we should find that tooth." I said, "No, don't worry about it. It was a baby tooth. It needed to come out, anyway." She said, "I'm sorry I got toi into this mess." I said, "It's not your fault, Catherine. I stepped in." She said, "Thanks for standing up for me." I said, "You're welcome." Thankfully, a new tooth grew in the place of the one that got knocked out. If it had been a permanent one, I wouldn't have cared. A single friend is plus important than thirty-two teeth.

A few hours later, Una and Everett were comfortably snuggled up together on the couch, sharing the last of Una's chocolates which lay in the open box between them, as the credits rolled on the movie.
"That was so good," murmured Una, her head resting on Everett's shoulder. "You know - I was looking vers l'avant, vers l’avant to your plans, whatever they were going to be, but I was really hoping we'd be able to watch this."
Everett gave a small laugh and shook his head. "I wish I'd known. I could have saved myself all this trouble."
Una grinned. "This year, our Valentine's jour plans were on me," she said. "Next an I expect it to be your turn."
Everett felt a warm rush at the thought of suivant year, that Una was so certain they would be celebrating Valentine's jour together suivant year. But then... of course, Everett though. He wouldn't have considered anything different.
"I l’amour you, Una," he said.
"I l’amour toi too, Everett," she said.
