If you've read The Picture of Dorian Gray, please help me!

I'm making an essay about the book and I wanted to quote an excert, only I can't find it. It is the part he says that when you're asleep toi can live in a perfect and fantastic world, and as toi wake up and everything around toi starts taking form, toi have to go back to your routine and go on from where toi had stopped yesterday. He says it would be better if each jour was independent of the other and we could just étoile, star over and do something new every day. If toi know the page ou at least the chapter please tell me!
