The very first scene i saw from OTH was Lucas and Brooke on the beach! And i started watching the episodes in that season in order on the tv (i live in Scotland!) Then i went back and watched from season one....and i'm a leytoner!

Depends how into the couple you get. I started in season 3 & I didn't really like Brucas as much as I liked Naley. But if you watch like, season 2 become a die hard Brucas fan, then you might like them after having watched season 1 knowing it turns out better.

it was for me. I started watching it in season 2 when lucas was in love with Brooke which i guess is why i was a brucas fan and jake was with peyton which is why i LOVED jeyton. I dind't start watching it properly untill season 3. I never really like Naley. . . I dont not like them, i just don't really pay any attention to them, i find them kinda boring (dont hate me) lol

omg, so i was thinking about making a pick about this too!
b/c from every brucas fan that i've talked to, they've started watching in S3, leytoners mostly since the beginning.it could b/c brucas fans didnt really get to see that leyton was first as a couple & mayb they would have fallen in love with leyton instead..??

1 AND 2 AND 3 were mainly brucas. if the first season u watched affected which couple you shipped there would be a LOT more brucasers...

I started watching in season 4 and it has definitely made me a Leyton fan.... I used to hate Brooke as well (though now she's my second favourite character) because she was so mean to Peyton in season 4 and iI had no idea of her history with Lucas.

i believe it can have an effect on it, however to me personally the couple i prefer has more to do with which individual characters i like. i love both peyton and lucas, so being a leytoner is natural. whereas i hate brooke so wanting her to be with my favorite character(lucas)just wouldn't be right. as for naley, i don't care much about them either way. i don't really like haley, and nathan i didn't like at all until season 5
