I do. I believe that if she had been honest(ish) then he would have still married her because she was honest, so he would have felt as if he could trust her.

I'm sure she wouldn't have been completely honest, probably twisting some things around, but she should have still told him about the pregnancy.

I'm guessing that even if she said something along the lines of:

"One night a few months ago, I met a man and he promised me great things. He promised to take me away from my life and I was naive and foolish enough to fall for his words. He manipulated me into believing that we would be wed and persuaded me to lay with him. I have recently discovered that I am with child and meant to speak with you about it, but didn't know how. I was actually thinking about how to tell you when I was in the garden and the man approached me, threatening to tell the whole kingdom of my mistake unless I paid him off. I panicked. I knew I was going to tell you before the wedding, but it just seemed too soon and I wasn't ready, so I agreed. My love, I am sorry you had to find out this way, from nasty rumors. This was not what I wanted."

It would have not been the whole truth, but it could have still worked and she would have been somewhat honest with him about it. He at least might have just postponed the wedding instead of breaking off the engagement entirely and having her carried out of the castle.

I don't think so, actually. Although, telling him the truth would have been the smartest thing to do as she would have at least had a shot. However, I think Leopold cared too much about his reputation as a king.

I don't think he loved her enough. Even if he did, I don't think it would've lasted long, due to him. I think though if he did marry her, she wouldn't be as evil as she was when we first saw her or like she was during season 2.

Leopold marrying Cora would have probably been a good political move with his people, though.

The peasants would have appreciated that Leopold didn't look down on them and even took a peasant woman as his wife.

I'm sure the child would have never inherited the throne like Snow did, but I don't think he would have immediately cast her off if she had been honest like he did when she continued to lie to him.

Even if she has told him the truth he still wouldn't want to marry someone who was waiting some random guy's baby . I think he cared a lot about his reputation to do this .

Yes, he did. How quick did he want to find a wife after Eva died? He found Regina, who saved his daughter, proposed to her, even though he didn't actually love her. Yes, Cora planned it because she knows how much he cares about being king, which just shows his reputation of marrying anyone who looks or acts suitable enough. ^

I thought Leopold married Regina because Eva had died and he wanted his young daughter to have a suitable mother..? That was why he proposed in the first place, Regina was kind and saved his daughter. He thought she'd make good step-mother material.

Yes but he should've gotten to know her first, not just proposed out of the blue. Plus the fact it was only like 2 or 3 days after Eva died is a bit far. That's desperate. He also just wanted another wife anyway, so he wasn't alone. Btw, did he recognize Cora when he proposed to Regina?

^ That sort of confused me too. Knowing Cora you'd think he'd have been a little suspicious when Cora accepted his marriage proposal for Regina.

As for your earlier comment I don't think Leopold ever experienced real love for anyone but his daughter. Both his marriages were done out of a sence of duty. Eva for his kingdom. Regina for his daughter. I think Cora was him trying to do love but as we all know it wasn't real. Had she not given him a reason to back out he would have married because of that same sence of duty.

...Was Henry (Cora's husband) Leopold's brother?

@minervadawn yeah, and they cast Rose brilliantly as a "young Cora". I don't think he did recognize her because later on in the stable boy, Cora said to Snow "I was talking to your father, about your mother.." or something along those lines.
@matchesrulezu No...he wasn't.
