NPR Great NPR Stations

While NPR is collectively good, there are some NPR stations across the nation that are AMAZING. But what are they? I would love to know what stations other NPR fans are proud of.

Two of my favorites are:

1.link WERN FM 88.7 & WHA AM 970 [both out of Madison, WI]. Madison's NPR is split into two different stations, one with a focus on news and the other with a focus on classical music. It was particularly nice to be able to choose which one to listen to depending on my mood: whether I wanted talking or music.

WHA is also host to many local shows that are now carried nationally: link, link (one of my favorite NPR shows ever!), link, and more.

2. The San Francisco Bay Area's link. Because this is what I (mostly) grew up with and told me most of the news when I was in middle and high school.

So again, what NPR station do you listen to and is there something particularly remarkable about it? A program? A host? Share with me/us please!
