This question could be better off as a poll, but anyway... I can't decide to be honest. Both are great songs, with pretty big differences.
Smells Like Teen Spirit is a song that everyone knows and loves; one of the most famous songs of all time. It was 'scientifically proven' to be the greatest song of all time, but I don't exactly agree with that. Good musique is a matter of opinion. But I'm getting off topic. Great song, l’amour it. I listen to it on repeat sometimes lol.
But then again, toi Know You're Right is awesome too. It's maybe not as much for the common taste, with a pretty guttural and intense sound, especially in the chorus. And the vocals are less than perfect, but I guess that's the point and it still sounds great! And toi Know You're Right is somehow an easier song to connect with.
Probably toi Know Your Right, if Kurt were to decide, he would pick that one. Since Nirvanas most populaire song was Smells Like Teen Spirit, they would play that song a lot more. In a 1993 interview with the band, Dave and Kurt stated that they were supposed to play Smells Like Teen Spirit, but they did not want to since they overplayed it. In 1994 Kurt stated that the song actually wasn't that good in his opinion. Y6ou know your right was the last recorded song of the band, and with 4 band members (Pat Smear) they would have to put in a little plus effort. since it was unreleased until 2002 it didn't get as much attention, because the band was dead. If it was released in 1994-1995 it probably would have got as much attention as Lithium ou Heart-Shaped Box.
