AlexGrayson Though I believe if Lauren Faust had her original way we would have had a g1 pony by the name of Moon Dancer in the role of Twilight Sparkle, but due to the trademark botch up on Hasbro's part she had to create Twilight Sparkle, but you are correct with Twilight and Twilight Twinkle being the insipration behind Twilight Sparkle though Sparkler also influenced her design as well not just Rarity's. Though kinda interesting if Hasbro wasn't able to renew its old trademarks how'd we get Moon Dancer in episode 103, kinda proving it was a money ploy on Hasbro's part to have Faust create new ponies. We also had Sparkler in FiM under a new name Amethyst Star.
