 I am a lover, not a fighter.
I am a lover, not a fighter.
Insights, declarations, confessions and words of wisdom par Michael Joseph Jackson.

"The meaning of life is contained in every single expression of life. It is present in the infinity of forms and phenomena that exist in all of creation."

"I've always wanted to be able to tell stories, stories that came from my soul. I'd like to sit par a feu and tell people stories, make them see pictures, make them cry and laugh, take them anywhere emotionally. I'd like to tell tales to déplacer their souls and transform them. I've always wanted to be able to do that. I sometimes feel I could do it."

"I'm not Jacko, I'm Jackson... 'Wacko Jacko' - Where did that come from? Some English tabloid. I have a cœur, coeur and I have feelings. I feel that when toi do that to me, it's not nice."

"In a world filled with hate, we must still dare to hope. In a world filled with anger, we must still dare to comfort. In a world filled with despair, we must still dare to dream. And in a world filled with distrust, we must still dare to believe."

"People think they know me, but they don't. Not really. Actually, I am one of the loneliest people on this earth. I cry sometimes, because it hurts. It does. To be honest, I guess toi could say that it hurts to be me."

 I was a veteran, before I was a teenager.
I was a veteran, before I was a teenager.
"The greatest education in the world is watching the masters at work."

"Lies run sprints, but the truth runs marathons. The truth will win this marathon in court."

"If toi enter this world knowing toi are loved and toi leave this world knowing the same, then everything that happens in between can be dealt with."

"And my goal in life is to give to the world what I was lucky to receive: the ecstasy of divine union through my musique and my dance."

"Please keep an open mind and let me have my jour in court"

"I wake up from dreams and go "Wow, put this down on paper." The whole thing is strange. toi hear the words, everything is right there in front of your face."

"And the dream we were conceived in will reveal a joyful face... and the world we once believed in will shine again in grace. Then why do we keep strangling life wound this Earth, crucify its soul. Though it's plain to see, this world is heavenly. We could be God's glow... Heal the world."

"Children montrer me in their playful smiles the divine in everyone. This simple goodness shines straight from their hearts and only asks to be lived."

"There's a Mother's jour and there's a Father's Day, but there's no Children's Day. It would mean a lot. World peace."

"Let us dream of tomorrow where we can truly l’amour from the soul, and know l’amour as the ultimate truth at the cœur, coeur of all creation."

"The media write weird stuff about me all the time. The distortion of the truth bothers me. I usually don't read a lot of what is printed, although I often hear about it. I don't understand why they feel the need to make up things about me. I suppose If there's nothing scandalous to report, it's necessary to make things interesting. I take some small pride in thinking that I've come out pretty well, all things considered. A lot of children in the entertainment business ended up doing drugs and destroying themselves: Frankie Lymon, Bobbie Driscoll, any of a number of child stars. And I can understand their turning to drugs, considering the enormous stresses put upon them at a young age. It's a difficult life. Very few manage to maintain any sembalance of a normal childhood. I myself have never even tried drugs--no marijuana, no cocaine, nothing. I mean, I haven't even tried these things."

"To my very loyal and dedicated fans throughout the world...your love, your caring, your endless support, provide nourishment to my soul and keep my spirit strong and unwavering... Together we will Heal The World."

"I don't know what I could do besides sing, but I'm not worried because I figure I've got the rest of my life to find out."

"What one wishes is to be touched par truth and to be able to interpret that truth so that one may use what one is feeling and experiencing, be it despair ou joy, in a way that will add meaning to one's life and will hopefully touch others as well. This is art in its highest form. Those moments of enlightenment are what I continue to live for."

The innocence of children represents to me the source of infinite creativity.

"Our children are the most beautiful, most sweet, most treasured of our creations. And yet, every minute at least 28 children die. Today our children are at risk of being killed par diseases and par the violence of war, guns, abuse and neglect. Children have few rights and no-one to speak for them. They have no voice in our world. God and nature has blessed me with a voice. Now I want to use it to help children speak for themselves. I have founded the Heal The World Foundation to be the voice of the voiceless: the children."

"I would like to say this about the United Negro College Fund. An education opens a person's mind to the entire world, and there is nothing plus important than to make sure everyone has the opportunity for an education. To want to learn, to have the capacity to learn and not to be able to is a tragedy. I am honoured to be associated with an evening that says this will never happen."

"If toi want to make the world a better place take a look at yourself and then make the change. I am never totally satisfied. I always wish the world could be a better place. Hopefully, toi know, that what I do with my music, brings happiness to people."

"I've seen the very rich and the very poor, but I'm mainly interested in the poor. I want to appreciate what I have, and try to help others. When I go to other countries, I wish to see the 'poorer' parts. I want to see what it's really like to starve. I don't want to hear it, ou read it. I want to see it. It's a whole different thing when toi see it! All the things I've read in my school livres about England and the Queen were okay, but my eyes are the greatest book in the world. When we [Jackson Five] did the Royal Command Performance, and then after it I actually looked into the Queen's eyes, It was the greatest thing! And it's the same with starvation, when toi see it, toi just receive a little more."

...my goal in life is to give to the world what I was lucky to receive: the ecstasy of divine union through my musique and my dance.

"When I get onstage, I don't know what happens. It feels so good, it's like it's the safest place in the world for me. I was raised on stage. Certain people were created for certain things and I think our job is to entertain the world. I don't see no other things that I could be doing."

"I l’amour the whole world of dance, because dancing is really the emotions through bodily movement. And however toi feel, toi just bring out the inner feeling through your mood. A lot of people don't think about the importance of it, but there's a whole psychological thing to just letting everything loose. Dancing is important, like laughing, to back off tension. Escapism... it's great. I really believe that each person has a destiny from the jour he's born, and certain people have a thing that they're meant to do."

"I am a very sensitive person. A person with very vulnerable feelings. My best Friends in the whole world are children and animals. They're the ones who tell the truth and l’amour toi openly and without reservation. Adults have learned how to hide their feeling and their emotions. They can lie. They will smile to your face and say bad things behind your back. Children haven't learned those things yet, and they can't hurt you.

"There's a certain sense that animaux and children have that gives me a certain creative juice, a certain force that later on in adulthood is kind of Lost because of the conditioning that happens in the world. A great poet a dit once. "When I see children, I see that God has not yet donné up on man." An Indian poet from India a dit that, and his name is Tagore. The innocence of children represents to me the source of infinite creativity. That is the potential of every human being. But par the time toi are an adult, you're conditioned; you're so conditioned par the things about toi and it goes. Love. Children are loving, they don't gossip, they don't complain, they're just open-hearted. They're ready for you. They don't judge. They don't see things par way of color. They're very child-like. That's the problem with adults they lose that child-like quality. And that's the level of inspiration that's so needed and is so important for creating and écriture songs and for a sculptor, a poet ou a novelist. It's that same kind of innocence, that same level of consciousness, that toi create from. And kids have it. I feel it right away from animaux and children and nature. Of course. And when I'm on stage. I can't perform if I don't have that kind of ping poney with the crowd. toi know the kind of cause and effect action, reaction. Because I play off of them. They're really feeding me and I'm just jouer la comédie from their energy."

"I l’amour Elizabeth Taylor. I'm inspired par her bravery. She has been through so much and she is a survivor. That lady has been through a lot and she's walked out of it on two feet. I identify with her very strongly because of our experiences as child stars. When we first started talking on the phone, she told me she felt as if she had known me for years. I felt the same way."

"My favori musique is an eclectic mix. For example, I l’amour classical music. I'm crazy about Debussy. Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun and Clair de Lune. And Prokofiev. I could listen to Peter and the loup over and over and over again. Copland is one of my all-time favori composers. toi can recognize his distinctive brass sounds right away. Billy the Kid is fabulous. I listen to a lot of Tchaikovsky. The Nutcracker Suite is a favorite. I have a large collection of montrer tunes also --Irving Berlin, Johnny Mercer, Lerner and Loewe, Harold Arlen, Rodgers and Hammerstein, and the great Holland-Dozier-Holland. I really admire those guys."

"I believe in perfection and I try to create that in everything we do. We never seem to totally get there, but I believe in perfect execution. And when we don't get at least 99.9%, I get really upset, so, that gets me upset."

I think James Brown is a genius...
I think James Brown is a genius...
"I think James Brown is a genius toi know when he's with the Famous Flames, unbelievable. I used to watch him on télévision and I used to get angry at the camera-man because whenever he would really start to dance they would be on a close-up so I couldn't see his feet. I'd shout "show him montrer him.", so I could watch and learn."

"I believe in doing better work. Just like the old saying, 'You don't get older, toi get better."

"Just because it's in print doesn't mean it is the gospel. People write negatives things, cause they feel that's what sells. Good news to them, doesn't sell."

"I'm just like anyone. I cut and I bleed. And I embarrass easily."

"She always tells me her most private secrets. That's the kind of relationship we have. - Referring to Diana Ross"

"Press coverage of my life is like looking at a fictitious movie. Because it's fiction. It's like watching science fiction. It's not true."

"I go around the world dealing with running and hiding. I can't take a walk in the park. I can't go to the store. I have to hide in the room. toi feel like you're in prison."

"I wanted to have a place that I could create everything that I never had as a child. So, toi see rides. toi see animals. There's a movie theater. I was always on tour, traveling."

"It's the worst thing in the world for me to let my fans down."

"I feel guilty just sitting around when I know I can be doing something."

"It was hard to have your life turn into public property, even if toi appreciated that people were interested in toi because of your music."

"Even at home, I'm lonely. I sit in my room sometimes and cry. It's so hard to make friends, and there are some things toi can't talk to your parents about. I sometimes walk around the neighborhood at night, just hoping to find someone to talk to. But I just end up coming home."

"I believe in wishes and in a person's ability to make a wish come true, I really do. And a wish is plus than a wish... it's a goal that your conscience and subconscience can help make reality."

"I'm totally at accueil on the stage. That's where I live. That's where I was born. That's where I'm safe."

"You can always dream, and your dreams will come true, but toi have to make them come true."

"We have to heal our wounded world. The chaos, despair and senseless destruction we see today are the result of the alienation that people feel from each other and their environment. Often this alienation has its roots in an emotionally deprived childhood."

"I have been the artist with the longest career, and I am so proud and honoured to be chosen from heaven to be invincible."

"Let us dream of tomorrow where we can truly l’amour from the soul, and know l’amour as the ultimate truth at the cœur, coeur of all creation."

"Both mom and dad knew that musique was a way of keeping the family together in a neighborhood where gangs recruited kids my brothers' ages."

"Children montrer me in their playful smiles the divine in everyone. This simple goodness shines straight from their hearts and only asks to be lived."

"I don't understand why they feel the need to make up things about me. I suppose if there's nothing scandalous to report, it's necessary to make things interesting."

"Children have had their childhood stolen from them. A child's mind needs the nourishment of mystery, magic, wonder, and excitement. I want my work to help people rediscover the child that's hiding in them."

"When I was young, the people I watched were the real showmen. James Brown, Sammy Davis Jr., Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly. A great showman touches everybody."

"When I look into the eyes of my Prince, and my daughter Paris, I see miracles and I see beauty."

"The Earth we share is not just a rock tossed through space, but a living, nurturing being. She cares for us, she deserves our care in return."

"Before toi judge me, try hard to l’amour me."

"This was in 1972 when I was 14 years old. They wanted me to sing a certain way and I knew they were wrong. No matter what age toi are, if toi have it and toi know it, people should listen to you."

"It hurts to be mobbed. Not mentally, but physically. Your body feels like a noodle, being pulled par ten different people. They don't realize it. They l’amour toi so much they just want a part of you. They say, 'I gotta get a piece of this guy, if it's his shirt, his hair, his face, anything.' There are fans who actually have pieces of my hair. I could go to England right now, and they'd montrer me and say, 'This is your hair from 3 years ago.' I'd say, 'Oh my gosh.' And it's sitting in their wallet. They collect hair."

"We can fly, toi know. We just don't know how to think the right thoughts and levitate ourselves off the ground."

"When I'm not onstage, I'm not the same. I'm different. I think I'm some kinda stage addict. When I can't get onto a stage for a long time, I have fits and get real crazy. I start crying, and I act weird and all freaked out. No kiddin', I do. I start to dancin' round the house."

"The suivant album has to be three times as great. It can't be just as good, because that would be a let-down. So I'll take my time and get it right." - Sometime After Off The Wall

"Like the old Indian proverb says, do not judge a man until you've walked 2 moons in his moccasins. Most people don't know me, that is why they write such things in wich [sic] most is not true. I cry very very often because it hurts and I worry about the children. All my children all over the world, I live for them. If a man could say nothing against a character but what he can prove, his story could not be written. animaux strike not from malice, but because they want to live, it is the same with those who criticize, they desire our blood, not our pain. But still I must achieve. I must seek truth in all things. I must endure for the power I was sent forth, for the world, for the children. But have mercy for I've been bleeding a long time now."

"I'm so proud to be an entertainer, but toi have seen nothing yet."
When I can't get onto a stage for a long time, I have fits and get real crazy.
