I don't really know..... :/

So theres this guy that I REALLY like and we used to not be Friends but then we started texting all the time....but it's weird he never talks to me at school....we text all the time but we never talk....and last night my friend Kate a dit that I should ask him out because it was leap jour and so nothing counts. I also have this issue where I can't tell this guy anything personal because the tells these really mean girls everything and they would use anything they know about he me against me to make people hate me and most importantly to make him hate me because they all like him too. Anyway, I told him my friend Kate told me to ask him out and he a dit for now no. Then I told him that Kate a dit aww and he a dit tell Kate I'm going to sleep. But he kinda flirts with me sometimes. I just don't really know what to think. And idk what he thinks ou how he thinks of me. Can u help me understand?
