How great would that be? But it's very unlikely due to the extreme measures taken to finish off the main storyline. With almost all of the questions answered (yes I a dit almost all - look hard and you'll find that many plus were answered than most people think), it would be difficult to script a movie.
The producers have gone to great lengths to make it clear it's over and I think many fans would be apprehensive if any future episodes ou films are announced. It currently stands as the most complex, well written and (in my opinion) most beautiful story ever told on TV (or films for that matter). Simply stunning in it's scope, depth, breadth and production values (let alone the outstanding/award winning acting). It's a story that will live with most of us for a very long time, if not forever.
That said, a commonly employed tactic in Lost's storylines is the 'Long Con'. Introduced to us par Sawyer early in the series, and then played out on the characters (and in turn, the viewers) on a grand scale as the MIB's millennia old long con is unfurled in season six. So in that spirit, perhaps it's not too big a stretch to imagine that something is secretly planned for the future par the writers. Who knows?
When I first watched the finale, I felt strongly that there was no plus the montrer could do in terms of storylines. Sure, scenes could be filmed to help us fill the gaps (in the same vein that 'The New Man In Charge' prologue did) - but beyond that, I thought it unnecessary for anymore. Over 18 months later, I must admit I can now see scope for a new take on the story. Surely, even with the smoke monsters death, the island has continued to be under some sort of threat. With Hurley as protector, I would l’amour to see a new cast and a new premise that excites us just as much as the first did!
