Loki (Thor 2011) Question

Do toi think there's a possibility that Loki wasn't entirely himself in The Avengers?

I'm not sure if I'm the only one, but personally, Loki seemed a little off in The Avengers. ou maybe it's just that I didn't really see him going from barely a villain to a complete monster so quickly. But.... back to the point!

Remember the stone in Loki's staff? Well, it seems like from that scene where the Avengers are arguing that the stone intensifies negative emotions ou something of the like and it seem to happen par just being around it. Now, if this is true, Thanos probably knew this and gave it to Loki knowing that it would intensify Loki's negative emotions (This seems to make sense because it would increase the chances of Loki succeeding if he was completely bent on getting revenge). Now, the mind control the stone seems to create is broken par a blow to the head... well, Loki got a huge blow when he was smashed par the Hulk and... it may be just me, but he seemed a bit more... normal after that. I mean, he didn't even try to escape from the Avengers ou something and I do think that if he had wanted to, he could have.

But... thoughts? Am I getting at something here? ou am I completely off base?

My Friends and I always theorize about that possibility (we're nerds)

Loki (Thor 2011) Réponses

toi know, I was trying to figure out what it was that bothered me about Loki in The Avengers. Him taking over the world seemed a bit extreme, but that could be chalked up to him being a tad emotionally unstable, and having his ego inflated par the Others. (? I think that's what they were called?) Even that scene with Coulson could be attributed to self-defense, in a way. (Although his actions still seemed a bit extreme, but I could be biased, since Coulson is just behind Loki as my favori character.) But something still seemed off. And I finally figured it out.

It was that scene with Natasha.

Every time Loki has Lost it on someone before that, there was a reason (sans Thor, but he's kind of a special case :p). But with Natasha... that blow up just seemed to come from no where. And not only did he get mad, he practically exploded. I mean, he literally hit the glass. For, seemingly, no reason, at all.

But the staff intensifying all Loki's emotions actually makes sense. It explains the scene with Natasha, it explains his over the haut, retour au début actions with Coulson.

He definitely seemed plus himself after the Hulk smack-down. But, I don't think that was entirely because he'd snapped out of the stone's influence. He came back to himself at the end of Thor after the fight with Thor, so I think Loki might just be the kind of person who needs some sense literally smacked into him before he sees reason.

Exactly, I found that strange vibe about Loki in that scene with Natasha, as well. I found it wasn't like him to get that violent at all: even if he did have a chip on his shoulder.

Surprising that somebody else has been thinking my exact same thoughts. I was wondering that, as well, why he seemed just somehow 'more normal' after that blow from the Hulk. I, too, noticed how the camera focused on the staff for a moment while the Avengers were arguing. Curious.
I think toi may indeed be on a secret trail Joss Wedon created. Maybe, of course. We can't be sure. But from what you've pointed out, it's an interesting theory that could very well be the truth!

Hello! Loki from the comics he's even plus crazy! Trust me I know. I think he's just been pushed off the edge, toi know the type. He feels like all of the nine realms are against him. If he can't have Asgard he'll have Midagrd. So he's doing everything in his power to get it. Ever heard the saying, "Power Crazy." Well that's just my opinion hope toi guys like it.

Yes, because he seemed to just be a little tired and plus prone to yelling and there were genuine moments when he seemed to realize he was going a bit far. i think the sphere influenced him on haut, retour au début of those Aliens because in the beginning sequence his eyes are so blue when his eyes are naturally green.

That is a good theory and it makes sense. Plus! Loki's eyes were extra blue in this movie like what he did to Hawkeye and Erik. toi just might be on to something.

Honestly it's a possibility, but Loki13 is right Loki is crazy in the comics and it looks to me they are basing this off the comics ou at least parts of it. So to me toi should ask Tom Hiddleston he knows plus about Loki then anyone! But of course écriture fan letters do take time and who knows if he'll even read it. So as I a dit it's a possibility, but who knows, right?

I think toi are right on target. In a post of the story behind Loki's character in the Avengers, Marvel described how Loki was also transformed par the sphere and was manipulated par it. That his behavior changed when he was not around it and came close to stopping his demonic attempt at taking over the world. This helped me understand the dynamic of the characters in the movie plus when I read that recap. Not being a comic book fanatic, I struggle with following the various characters.
