There is something incredibly personal about drinking out of another person's wrist. Granted I do not make a habit out of it, but it must be mentioned that neither does Klaus. If toi can recall from précédant episodes, Klaus does not have others drink from his wrist. When he bites Katherine to prove a point, he pours his blood into a glass and hands it to her. When he gives the blood for Damon, it is in a bottle. Caroline, is the only one he has drink directly from him.

And the way he goes about it is rather unusual. Think about it. Unlike the other vampires in the show, who usually bite their wrist before offering it to another, Klaus offers Caroline his wrist undamaged. Whether he realizes it ou not, he is trusting her to not reek havoc on his arm. That is an incredibly vulnerable thing for him to do. Incredibly personal.

He does not just offer her his wrist however. He could have simply leaned over and held out his arm, but instead, he chooses to berceau, station d’accueil her. He brings her body close to his chest--another moment of vulnerability--and holds her while she drinks. She could have gone for his heart, had she the strength, but the thought probably did not even traverser, croix her mind. Klaus seems to believe he is at least partly sûr, sans danger with her.

One other thing: par offering her a choice, Klaus risked his plan of winning over Sheriff Forbes par saving her daughter, but he shows respect for Caroline. He is allowing her to choose her fate, something no one has allowed her to do thus far. Becoming a vampire was not a choice for her, but staying one is. It is really quite brilliant. She must now accept her life since she chose it.

One last point before I shut up. Caroline takes a double take when Klaus offers her his arm. Granted she is already in his arms, she has already claimed she wants to live, and she has already stated that she thinks lowly of him, but yet she hesitates to bite him. Re-watch it and toi will see that she looks back at him as if asking for permission to bite him. Really, Caroline, toi think so lowly of him? Could it be that your opinion has started changing in the last five minutes? I think perhaps so.

I personally LOVED this scene. The chemestry between them was amazing! I must say that when I first read that they might get together, I went... Huh? Okay, maybe can see it. Then I watched the episode and was convinced. New favori couple, seriously, wow.
