As seen in Part 6...
She looked back at Sora, "Yes... I'm afraid that I did hear something else... And toi are not going to like this, but..." Sora consented, "Go on." She looked at the ground, "I heard some passing members as they were walking by, up above. They talked of some machine, called the Reclaimer. They a dit that it was meant to remove hearts from the kingdom itself, but Xemnas has other plans for it. You, Riku, and the King's hearts are in grave danger," she a dit in a shaky voice, "He plans to use the Reclaimer to take your hearts so that he can gain access to one source, and one source only... Kingdom Hearts!"
The King and Sora looked at each other. Mickey looked back and Minnie and Sora stared at the King, "What are we going to do now!?"
. . .
Mickey's eyes narrowed in frustration. "I don't know how Xemnas came to get the Reclaimer. My old friend, Ansem, was the one who invented and used that machine in an attempt to destroy Kingdom Hearts - ou at least try to regain some of the Lost hearts within. It exploded, and Ansem ceased to exsist.
"I guess Xemnas must've figured out how to reassemble it," Sora ejeculated. Minnie looked at the King. "What do we do about this, Mickey?" Mickey thrust his keyblade into the ground. "We destroy it. We can't let Xemnas use the Reclaimer against any one of us. I won't permit it," He growled. Sora nodded. "We will do our best to make sure that Xemnas doesn't get a hold of any of our hearts."
Just then all three of them heard a loud booming sound, as if a huge eruption had occurred. Knowing dawned upon Mickey's face. "That will be our Friends returning." Sora's face seemed to light up with happiness. "Really? They're back?" Sora leaped up. "Let's go and meet up with them." Mickey nodded once and they were off.
. . .
It took a while, but they eventually made it to the landing site. The engine of the Gummi ship was already died down, but nobody had come out yet.
Mickey and the rest waited patiently. Then, the doors slowly opened as Donald and Goofy came out with Riku, Beast, Hercules, Simba, Jack Skellington, Jack Sparrow, and another young girl came out.
Introducions were made, all around. Sora ran up, eagerly, and then hugged Donald and Goofy. "I'm so glad that toi guys are back!" Donald and Goofy gasped for air. Goofy patted Sora's head. "Gawrsh, we're happy to see toi too, Sora. Now, could toi stop crushing our windpipes?" Sora lauged and then let them go. "Oops. Sorry."
Mickey and Minnie stood from a distance - watching all and sundry. Mickey waited a moment and then spoke. "Hello, friends! It's great to see toi all, and I am so grateful that toi would be willing to come and help us."
Simba and Jack Skellington came up to greet the King and Queen. Simba nodded. "It'll be my honor to fight with toi King Mickey. Minnie - looking as radiant as ever." Minnie giggled. "Thank toi Simba."
Jack Skellington extended his bony hand towards Mickey and Minnie. "Pleased to meet you, Your Highnesses. I'm Jack Skellington the citrouille King of Halloween Town. It'll be my pleasure to fight alongside toi in battle. For I have heard that toi are a powerful ally, Mickey."
Mickey smiled. "No, no the pleasure is all mine, friends. Thank toi for your bravery."
Sora laughed. "Look at them - the three kings." Sora then turned around and saw Riku. Riku walked over to Sora, but Sora ran up to Riku with such excitement, Riku thought he was going to tackle him. "Riku! It's you! Where've toi been, man?"
Riku laughed. "I've been in Hollow Bastion, helping out with Yuffie. The townsfolk are trying to reconstruct the buildings and give them a better outlook. What about you?" Sora shrugged. "Hah, toi know me - fighting heartless and helping the different worlds out." Sora looked at Yuffie and smiled. "Yuffie! It's great to see you! What made toi decide to come out?" Yuffie punched his shoulder, playfully. "Oh c'mon, Sora! toi know me - ready to help out whenever I can." She closed her eyes, smiled, and held a thumbs-up. Sora laughed. "Yeah, It's good to have another addition to our little band. The plus the better!"
Jack Sparrow went up to Sora and the King. "Aye, we'll teach these dirty scum what us pirates can do. par the by, where was that treasure located again, Donald, mate?" Donald chuckled nervously. "It's somewhere below the castle, but don't be disappointed if toi don't ever find it."
Mickey gave Donald a reproving look. "Donald...," The King looked at Jack Sparrow. "I'm sorry, captain, there is no treasure to be had after this. Donald must've lied to toi to make toi come here. I gave him a letter-" Donald interceded. "I read the letter to him, but he refused to come unless there was something in it for him to gain. Hmph... Pirates..."
Mickey looked at Jack apologetically. "I'm so sorry about this misunderstanding. toi may go back to your world, if that's what ya wish."
Jack shook his head. "It's alright. If I turn back now, it would be dishonoring to all pirates, everywhere, savvy?" Mickey looked up at him. "Yes, I understand completely. Thanks."
Mickey walked up to Yuffie, looking her up and down. "Hello, Yuffie." Yuffie bobbed a short curtsy to Mickey. "Hello, Your Majesty - long time, no see."
Mickey admired Yuffie for her bravery. She wasn't asked to come and help, but she came anyway. Mickey gesticulated with his arm towards her. "I've seen ya fight, and toi are no disappointment with that scythe-like "X" blade of yours." Yuffie smiled, happy that she was being admired of her fighting skills par one so competent as the King. "Why, thank you, Your Majesty."
Mickey remarked as he walked up to Hercules and the Beast, "Hey guys, how's it going?" Hercules hugged Mickey in a vise-like grip. "Aw, it's so great to see you, Mickey!" Mickey gasped. "It's great to see toi too, Herc." Hercules dropped Mickey. "Heheh... Sorry. I don't know my own strength sometimes." Mickey chuckled. "It's okay," He looked at the Beast. The Beast didn't look very happy at all. "Your Majesty," He nodded. Mickey nodded back. "Beast, how are you?"
The Beast shook Mickey's hand - enveloping it completely. "It's an honor to finally meet you." Mickey smiled. "Same here, Beast."
Mickey then turned his attention to Riku. Mickey shook Riku's hand. "Riku, it's been a while since I saw toi last." Riku nodded once, thinking about the battle to come. "I know. Lets end this once and for all. No matter what, Kingdom Hearts must remain sûr, sans danger from the hands of Organization XIII."
"Yes, that's what concerns to me too." The King sighed and then stepped to center of the courtyard.
Everyone fell silent. The King was looking at the ground - a plain expression on his face. Nobody a dit a word, and a few moments passed before the King broke the silence. "Friends, I'd like to thank toi for your bravery and generosity. toi didn't have to come, but toi came anyway.
"Tonight, we go against the enemy - Organization XIII. Their goal - take over Kingdom Hearts. We cannot let this happen. Our goal is to wipe out the Organization and most importantly - protect Kingdom Hearts.
"However, they have a special weapon - the Reclaimer." The King paused and looked at the Kingdom Hearts moon. "The Reclaimer is a machine that was built with a purpose. It was called the Reclaimer because it was made to retrieve Lost hearts within the Kingdom and decode it as data. Ansem the Wise was the creator. He designed and built the machine himself. Once it was fully equipped, he tried a run of the machine." The King looked at the ground. "The Reclaimer was filled to full capacity, and it was still gaining more. Eventually, it self-destructed, and Ansem Lost his life."
"Somehow, Xemnas was able to reassemble the pieces, and now the machine is in his grasp. He may not want to destroy Kingdom Hearts with the Reclaimer... But, he may want to use it on us."
Everyone gasped at this sudden turn in the speech. The King's words weighed down on everyone.
The King surveyed his audience. "I can understand if toi would like to turn back now because now is the time to choose. Is there anyone who would like to go back to their own world?"
Simba stamped one of his paws down. "I'm staying."
Jack Skellington smiled maliciously. "So am I! I haven't had this much fun since last Halloween."
Beast crossed his arms. "I'm not leaving. I can't abide to let my Friends fight an evil Organization par themselves."
Hercules pounded one fist into his hand. "What? Leave toi guys to all the fun? Huh. I don't think so."
Jack Sparrow looked at the Gummi ship and then back at the King. "Aye aye, I will fight with ye. No decent pirate would turn his back on an opportunity such as this. I'll be bound that there's some kinda treasure stored in there, savvy?"
The King smiled. "Simply put, captain." Then, he turned back towards the rest. "I will do my very best to protect toi all - with my life. I vow, that nobody will be losing their cœur, coeur tonight while I'm around. toi can count on me."
The stability and intensity of the King's words left everyone without a doubt. Mickey nodded. "Let's go."
Riku walked to Mickey's left side and Sora to his right. "We're with toi all the way, Your Majesty," Sora said.
Riku summoned his keyblade. "They won't know what hit 'em."
Mickey stared at Minnie and then walked up to her. "What's wrong, Min?" Minnie stood, hands akimbo. "I'm coming with you." Mickey stared at her in the eyes. "No. toi have to stay here." Minnie shook one finger at him in a no-nonsense sort of way. "You listen to me, Mickey Mouse. I'm not going to stand around here, feeling helpless. I wouldn't be able to stand the pressure - not knowing if you'd come back ou not. I'm going and that's final." Mickey's eyes hardened. "Well, toi know what I wouldn't be able to stand? I wouldn't be able to stand losing toi again." Sora and Riku overheard what was going on between the King and Queen.
Sora whispered to Riku. "There's gotta be something that she can do to help." Riku a volé, étole a glance back at them. "I can see how the King is upset. After what toi told me, I wouldn't want, say, someone that I loved going back to the castle. Though, I can see how the Queen feels too. Hmm..." Sora walked over to the King and Queen. "C'mon, your Highness. I've seen Minnie and she can take care of herself fine." Minnie nodded in agreement. "See?"
Mickey looked from Minnie to Sora - back and forth. "Still, no. The Organization is way to unpredictable."
"I can keep an eye on her, if ya want," Sora offered.
"So can I, but-" Mickey looked up at him. "It's not that I don't trust ya, Sora, it's just that I don't trust them. She should stay."
Sora looked at Minnie and sighed. Just then, Riku walked up bearing a glowing vile of some sort. He handed the vile to the Queen. "Here, take this." Then, he turned to the King. "This is what I propose - She comes, but doesn't fight. Instead, she will heal the others. When we are down, then she can step in and give us a healing hand. That way, she is not feeling useless, and toi don't have to worry about her getting hurt."
Mickey nodded. "That's a sensible idea, and we need somebody for that job. It's vital to our mission. Donald." Mickey gesticulated for Donald to come forth. "Donald, since toi are my royal magician, could toi please accompany my wife in healing those who need help during the battle? It's a very hard task, and not many of us can do it. Will toi accept?"
Donald saluted sharply. "I will do my best, your Majesty."
Sora summoned his keyblade as well. "Let's finish this."
. . .
Axel came up to Xemnas's room. The Queen had escaped. There was no mistaking that. He just wondered at how she came to do so. The shield on that cage was absolutely indestructable! How?
Xemnas was facing the window, looking at the Kingdom Hearts moon. Axel walked in but didn't say anything. Xemnas chuckled lightly. "So... Has our little Queen coughed the information out yet?"
Axel scratched his head, looking at the floor. "Yeah... About that..."
Xemnas sighed and pounded his fist on the window sill. "She will talk... Eventually."
Axel put one finger on his chin. "You've got it all wrong. It's not that she won't talk. She's gone."
Just then, a flurry of thorns jutted out at Axel. Axel gasped. "Woah!" He backed up and using his weapon of flames - he jutted forth a stream of feu to meet with the thorns. The two forces collided, and the feu licked the thorns until it was nothing but a pile of ash on the floor. Axel stood panting. "What was that for?"
"You dithering imbicile! How could toi let a simple mousewife out of your sight? Was it really so hard to question the Queen and get information out of her? How could toi let this happen?" Xemnas cooled down after a few minute moments. Axel stood, ready to fight at a moment's notice.
Xemnas closed his eyes and pointed at the door, shrilly. "Get out."
Axel left his presence in a flash, glad to have not befell any injuries.
. . .
The King looked up at the castle. "There are four entrances on each side of the castle. It is built with many corridors, and toi can easily get lost. We will be using these four entrances. They lead into the lower chambers of the castle.
"As long as toi get to ground level and stick to the main hallways, toi should be fine. We will meet in the middle of the castle. Any questions?"
Everyone knew Mickey as a wise ruler and he was famed for his great leadership. Nobody doubted a word he said. The King nodded. "Right. We'll divisé, split into four groups. Sora, Riku, and I will go through on the west side. Goofy, Beast, and Donald will go through the east side. Minnie, Simba, and Hercules will go through the south, and Jack Sparrow, Jack Skellington, and Yuffie will go through the north. Good luck! And may fortune be with toi all!"
. . .
The Organization was restless. They vigilantly waited for the arrival of their leader, completely oblivious to the fact that they're very walls were being breached ou defeated.
Axel was leaning against a wall, his capuche, hotte was pulled up over his face.
Larxene walked up to him. "How does it feel to have let the old boss down, huh?" Axel growled. "I can care less if I let him down. I can care less if this whole building crumbled around him and if the Kingdom Hearts moon fell out of the sky!" She leaned alongside him. "Tsk. Tsk. Not in the livliest of moods are we?"
He didn't make a response and she eyed him severly and she walked away. "So be it. When toi are feeling chippier, come see me. Maybe, I have a little information about how, I don't know...," She turned around, "how the Queen escaped?"
He threw off his capuche, hotte and stared at her, flabberghasted. "What do toi know? Tell me!"
She walked back over to Axel and smiled. "Do toi see the door that is directly across the hallway from where the Queen was being held captive?"
Axel nodded. "Yeah."
Larxene shrugged. "If toi ever took the time to walk around this wondrous château maybe toi might've known that there is a way for the enemy to get in. Down there in that room, is a trap door in the ceiling. I was just about to walk around this corner when out of nowhere, the King stepped out from the room. I stayed silent and just watched him. He just simply went down those stairs over there, retrieved his wife, and then left the same way he came in."
Axel spread his arms wide in fury and his eyes were alight. A rend of flames exploded from his form as he roared, "How could toi let them just leave!? We could've taken them and defeated them so easily! Why would toi do such an idiotic thing?"
Larxene smiled and walked away. "Oh, I wouldn't worry to much. Simmer down, fireball. I actually want to fight the souris and I know I can defeat him," she smirked, "just believe me." Axel called out to her before she disappeared around a bend. "Are toi sure it's not because toi just wanted to see me in trouble with Xemnas?"
There was no response. Xigbar walked up to Axel. "We have company."
Axel turned. "What do toi mean?"
Xigbar laughed. "All of our guests have made their way into the château right under our noses! They are in the center courtyard in the middle of the castle. All of them... Including the King."
Axel smiled. "Right, this is what we are going to do..."
. . .
Jack Sparrow, Jack Skellington, and Yuffie were the first to meet their destination - the center of the castle. Eventually, everyone else made it to the designated area. The King looked grim-faced at their surroundings. It was like a huge octogone and the only exits were the four hallways leading from hence they came. There was a long stairway that led overhead up into the higher chambers of the castle.
Sora and Riku walked over to the King. Sora crossed his arms. "Something isn't right. I can feel it." Just then, the Organization appeared in a black mist. Every exit was blocked. Mickey's eyes slitted in intensity. "This is it, fellas." Sora nodded as he and Riku summoned their keyblades. Sora was weilding the keyblade - Oathkeeper. Riku was weilding the keyblade - Way to the Dawn. Mickey was weilding the Keyblade of Darkness a.k.a the Kingdom Key D. The room was white. So white, that it almost looked angelic. Rain pattered against the windows as the thunder roared like a madbeast caught in the gale. Lightning could be seen, like as if it was the claws of that madbeast - raking itself against the walls of the château - seeking entry. Mickey gritted his teeth and glared at Axel - Axel, the one who had struck and captured his wife. Mickey summoned his keyblade and leapt toward Axel.
Sora and Riku let out a yell and charged forward. The fight was on!
