Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
Katy Perry Is Queen Of Wearing Political Endorsements On Her Sleeve
Over the weekend, Katy Perry performed at Hillary Clinton’s Iowa rally and documented her experience on Hillary’s Instagram. Of course, because no one does a theme like Katy Perry, she took the opportunity to wear her endorsement on her sleeve—literally—in not one, but two different Hillary-centric outfits.
Katy Perry Took Over Hillary Clinton’s Instagram Account — Here’s How That Went Down
The first, a fitted, white sequin gown came equipped with a crystalized handmade American flag cape from designer Michael Costello. She topped off the look—😉—with a custom red and blue turban from Eugenia Kim.
While that look was more generally patriotic than overtly pro-Hillary, her outfit change left nothing up for debate—her flared denim dress was covered in multiple “custom made embroidered logos with Swarovski crystal detail.” This dress was also designed by Michael Costello, oh, and was pulled off by his team “in less then 3 hours.”
Both outfits were accompanied by matching nail art—go big or go home, y’know?
It’s important to note that this isn’t the first time Katy has gone all out when it comes to lending her support to presidential candidates—she did the same for President Obama in 2012.
At campaign rallies in Nevada and Wisconsin, Katy performed in two latex dresses—one featuring President Obama’s campaign slogan, the other making it clear who she’d be casting a ballot for.
Four years earlier, though at the MTV EMA and not a campaign stop, she wore her endorsement in the form of a sequin Jean Charles de Castelbajac dress.
Considering we still have over a year to go until Election Day, we’re prettttty sure we’ll be seeing more political outfits from KP—maybe we’ll even get a pantsuit or two? Fingers crossed.
