Well one of the main focuses in the montrer is over the nature of what a character IS: Human, Demon, Good, Evil ou Half-Demon. So yah, it's pretty obviously stated throughout the entier series what he is.
But to answer your question he's a Demon. Really the pointy ears, insainly long white hair (and he's young)golden eyes and claws and the fact that he can fly has sharp pointy teeth and can turn into a giant monster sized Dog-Demon should all be a dead give away.
