i'd have to say the texas chainsaw massacre the original. anything old is scary in my opinion.Go classics!

For me, Final Destination is probably one of the scariest. There is still this one part in it that I still think about and it makes me wince. The first one tho, for some reason the sequels didn't irk me as much. Either that ou Jeepers Creepers, which is just really unsettling(but awesome :P)

Halloween(1978) is the scariest film I've ever seen
toi are almost always promised a scare with John Carpenters stuff one noe though if toi watch Halloween 3 watch it as a separate film from the Halloween series
The SAW series is good for a thriller type. Wes Craven makes some great stuff if debra colline produced it it's a winner a lot of the low budget films from the 70s and 80s are great but toi can't go wrong with the Universal classics with those they are just about completely the actors and make up the Vincent Price fils are some of the scariest House on haunted hill, house of wax and the last man on earth are the best

if your going with classic horror films i'd say the shining and it. both scare the crap out of me even to this day!
if your going for modern, the grudge and some of the saw films are good!

The Exorcist is scary as shit :U Also The Strangers. It's plus of a suspenseful scary but it still freaked me out

The Hills Have Eyes 1 and 2...... The first one scared my mom so bad she wouldn't go to the basment to do the laundry, and made me and my little sister go with her XD

The Thing. Aliens kill people and their bodies litraly divisé, split apart and in one scence a decapitated head grows legs and walks around. This film can guartee scares and it scared me.
