toi ever see basketball, basket-ball Diaries with Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Wahlberg? It's a pretty nasty movie but the one where DiCaprio gets all kinds of praise for playing a junkie. Why a Batman and RoboCop fan is screwing around here in a high school musical site? Because I wanted to point out to anyone who's old ou young that High School Musical -- good ou not I dunno -- is "Basketball Diaries" for young people. toi see, Leonardo DiCaprio plays Jim Carroll who was a basketball, basket-ball étoile, star in a New York public high school in the '60s before they integrated blacks. He becomes addicted to heroin, cocaine, a whole bunch of stuff because there's a side in him that he can't express -- the écriture side. He's a poet and became a Pulitzer Prize winner for a book of poems he wrote while going through the phase of trying to do something different while playing basketball. I remember those days myself. And the movie is essentially Zac Efron and his dilemma as it would play out in REAL LIFE!! LIKE DARK KNIGHT! Like High School Musical are the Raimi Spidermans. How a writer HOPES things go. Like Efron in a musical. And Nolan's Batman films are like DiCaprio -- the way it really is! How many other comédies musicales out there could we write and sell to Disney based off uberviolent nasty f-word films? How about Predator?
